Scarlet looked at her friend, her eyes wide in fright. "Tara! It doesn't have to come to this!" She yelled, waving her arms frantically. Tears stung her eyes, the smell of death filled her nostrils as if it was awaiting her. Gasping for breathe, Scarlet rubbed her arm, shivering. It was a cold night and standing on a cliff, wind hurling around them, didn't exactly help. The orb in Tara's hand lit up the once tranquil darkness. "Tara! You know what will happen!" Scarlet screamed to her friend, sweat plastered her red hair to her forehead.

"You" Tara muttered her first words since they ended up in this mess. Her usually vibrant blue eyes glowed black. With a sudden swoosh, she had a sword in her hand and it was positioned right in front of Scarlet's neck. The red headed girl gulped, her hands up in defeat. Tara's black hair blew in the wind, if they weren't in such a deadly position Scarlet might have taken a picture. "YOU!" Tara raged, her eyes furious. "You took it all away from me!" She screamed into my face. Rage, sadness, weakness, strength, so many emotions were crossing her face.

"I'm sorry. It wasn't my fault!" Scarlet tried telling her, worry laced her voice. Scarlet knew this wasn't the real Tara, she knew he was controlling her. "Tara! This isn't the true you!" She told her. Tara's eyes turned redder by the second. This was the fourth and final stage.

"Scarlet, Scarlet" Tara grinned evilly, her sword still against Scarlet's throat. "You've taken everything from me. My family, my friends, and even my home" She informed her, the sword becoming closer and closer. Scarlet could only watch in fear as her friend moved the sword closer. Her eyes flashed towards the orb once more, she had forgotten about the magical object. If Tara were to drop it, they would both die. Scratch that. Everyone would die.

"Tara" Scarlet trudged calmly, "Don't drop the orb."

Tara sneered, lowering the orb closer to the ground. "Why should I listen to you?"

Scarlet looked at the orb, then at the ground, she looked back up to Tara's sword, and then back at the orb. She couldn't do anything to save everyone. "Please. Please. Tara! I know this isn't you! I know he's controlling you. Don't do it!" Scarlet pleaded. "I've had enough of your blabbering!" Tara growled and with one quick, harsh movement, Scarlet eye's went dull and she fell to the ground limp. Pity subsided in Tara's eyes for a second. That second vanished before it had been seen. A quiet, dark chuckle sounded behind him.

Coming out of the shadows, the evil man finally took shape. Dark hair and even darker eyes bored into Tara's memory. "Are you sure?" Tara asked the man, "if I let this Orb of Light fall, I will have power? Enough power to take back everything I once loved?"

"Why, of course, my little puppet" The man's voice was chilling, even the Jack Frost would've stood frozen. ((A/n: Totally NOTFrozen and Rise of the Guardians reference. HA. HA. Totally was.))

Tara smirked and dropped the Orb, suddenly everything went dark and evil laughter filled the space. "What's happening?!" Tara screamed, her black eyes turning back to their normal blue. "Oh, I hope death isn't a problem" The man chuckled as the whole world became dark. "I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRUSTED YOU!" Tara shouted, shaking. She couldn't move, death had a tight grip on her and it was stubborn, it would never let her go.

The dark voice chuckled, his laughter becoming louder and more obnoxious, "FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER, YOU'RE RIGHT!"

That's the day the humans race died off.
