*Chapter Four*
“Are you going to eat?” my heart sank.
“No.” I said shoving my plate forward and slumping back.
"Misty stop it." Falcon said almost angrily.
“Stop what?” I asked getting defensive. “stop being human? Stop having feelings? Stop what exactly Falcon.” I asked.
Falcon just stared at me for a minute before getting up and storming out of the restaurant. Everyone turned to looked at me in the corner.
“What?” I asked. “I didn’t do anything.” Gabe gave me a look that said ‘get your ass out there and talk to him.’
So I did. I hate that Gabe’s like a brother too me. Him and Jake can read me so well. Everyone on my side of the table moved to let me out, and I got up and slowly walked outside to find where Falcon had gone.
I found him lying on the hood of Gabe’s small sports car.
“Hey.” I said softly.
He didn’t say anything. he didn’t even look at me. My eyes prickled with hot tears threatening to fall. Why do I always mess everything up with him?
“I’m sorry…” I said in a barely audible voice.
Still no movement or response.
“Alright. Then fine whatever it is you want me to change about myself I’ll do it just stop acting the way are Falcon.” I spoke almost harshly struggling to keep the tears in and the pain out of my voice.
“Shit. Misty.” Falcon kicked at the ground. “I don’t want you to change. Hell you shouldn’t ever feel you have to change for anyone. I-I just. I…Misty…I want to know the real reason why you did what you did that night…” Falcon trialed off he’d jumped off the hood when he started talking now he was leaning against his car that next to Gabe’s.
He stared at me his eyes bearing into mine.
“I…I...what…you really don’t get it do you? all this time and you still don’t know why I did that?”
He just kept staring at me not speaking so I kept going.
“Damint Falcon I did it to get over you.” I said turning away from him.
I waited. Still waited and there was only silence. So I whispered just loud enough I wasn’t even sure he heard. “And it didn’t work. Nothing works.” Then I started to walk away.
I was about to open the door to the small bar next to the pizza place when a hand reached out and grabbed my wrist. Thinking it was Falcon I turned around to face him but instead came face to face with. HIM. The guy who ruined everything three years ago. The biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my life. And it looked like he was drunk.
His other hand came down to my waist pulling me closer to him-though I struggled I wasn’t strong enough against his large frame and one last desperate attempt I called Falcons name just before the man’s lip crashed to mine.
