Holocaust

I stood still watching the rain tipper tapper,

As the weather cleansed the dirt off the rubbles.

The lifeless earth was made to awaken,

For the wrath once inflicted seemed to have laden.

I still recall that dreadful day when siblings of many were set ablaze,

For they were filth, carriers that would raze as per comrades.

Tears kept welling up in my eyes,

As my neighbors' desperate cries echoed through the skies.

Not one but many were forced to embrace,

That their inferior birth was the cause of malice.

As the hopeful spring befalls on earth,

Foolishness of a few infest guilt in our hearths.

"How would we ever end this sorrow?"

A sorrow brought in by our very own marrow!

A red rainbow seemed to have surfaced in the sky,

A reminder of our mum faced wry.

My eye lids rested as I breathed soundlessly,

With the hope that the verdure will embed the ashes courtly.

As the rain rejuvenates our silenced portals,

I pray to wash off the cardinal sins entrenched in the hands of our shameless mortals....
