Klaus knew he had to deal with Gina once and for all. In his mind he wanted to go all full vengeful go back into that apartment and tear her limb from limb. This betrayal she has bestowed was something that Klaus never thought would happen. He save her life. I gave meaning to her miserable existence this how she chose to repay him. A lot come to light about her betrayal that Gina had been doing this since Katherine flee in 1492 and everything began to make sense a little more. Gina was on guard with Andre that night but left as there was a disturbance, conveniently Katherine disappeared. When Klaus reflect back on the summer evening where he had everything he needed to remove the curse upon himself he felt a rage that he hadn’t felt before. For him Gina was like another sister to him. He recalled that Rebekah kept telling him that she wasn’t trustworthy. Klaus put it all down to jealously as his little sister didn’t like the attention taken from her. How wrong was he?

Klaus chose to invite Damon Salvatore into his revenge plot for two reasons. One being that he knew how sadistic Damon mind was due to the stories he had heard about the vampire. Secondly Klaus knew how besotted Damon was over the doppelgänger. Klaus felt remorse for him as he knew the games that Katherine played especially with brothers. So when he decided all of these factors he knew that Damon Salvatore will be his perfect partner in crime.

Damon felt that things wasn’t working out in New York that his hopes on finding the Whitmore family were fading away. He tried to stake that Klaus but nothing happen. No screaming, no pain, no desiccating nothing at all. Damon hadn’t come across anything like this in his 142 years of being a vampire. His brain rattle of the possibilities of how all of this could be possible. He thought about leaving New York City and go in search for the last of Whitmore himself as he knew that Antonio will not give the relevant information. Damon sat there with a smirk upon his face as he thought about just forcing the information out of him instead.

His thoughts were broken by a British accent which he dreaded to hear. As he turned he saw the man he tried to stake earlier Damon knew that death may be coming to him, but he would not go down without a fight. To Damon surprise the vampire didn’t come to the bar to seek any form of revenge instead he wanted Damon to help him with an issue he was having. A vampire called Gina Maggs. Klaus had informed Damon that Katherine wasn’t in Mystic Falls in the tomb beneath Fells church. That she had been living a life while he pinned away for her. Damon didn’t know if to believe him or not, but Klaus was willing to show him proof if he could prove that Katherine wasn’t where Damon thought she was all this time.

Damon looked at Nic he seemed really sure of himself Damon thought to himself “So are you going to tell me how you know that Katherine is not in the tomb?” he spoke in a annoyed tone as he didn’t want to believe that Katherine had betrayed him in such a way “Or are you going to keep wasting my time? Because my time is valuable and I have better things to do” he glared at Klaus, wishing that he could stake him and be done with it, but Damon knew deep down it wasn’t that easy.

Klaus didn't like Damon tone but kept his composure as he needed someone with Damon expertise to help him deal with Gina once and for all. Klaus tried to give the cocky vampire some compassion. As Katherine had fooled this man into believing all of her lies “She was never in there Damon because she bribed the guard. Your precious Katherine been living a life. While you've been pinning away over a woman who only looks out for her own interest” Klaus notice Damon getting angry with what he had just told him but he as well as Damon had been under the influence of the Petrova doppelgänger, which nearly tore him and Elijah apart.  “I know the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger they tend to play brothers against each other” Klaus spoke with sorrow in his voice as he recalled back to a thousand years when Tatiana had played both he and Elijah, he watched as Damon face seemed surprise. “Oh didn't I mention your brother and I were once good friends” Klaus spoke in a mocking tone as he knew the history of the Salvatore brothers. When he met Stefan in 1920 he was told about the older brother who thought he was above all. Klaus needed to get Damon on side and with the right words and information he knew he would have Damon on board with his plan.
