Libby eyes were starring at me. And starring. And starring. And starring some more. I had a feeling that she was going to attempt to kill me, wouldn't you? Think back to the dreams..... were they becoming real? She starting screaming, "Look what you've done?" I couldn't make eye contact with the demon girl, but she really wanted me to see the damage I've caused "Look!" she growled "If you don't look, I'll kill you even faster. And your friends..... ha! They're doomed" She said with her maniacal laugh. I thought staying silent was the best of my options at the moment, but my head was going nuts with thoughts.
Is this... the believer?
What is she doing to my friends?
Is she actually killing them?
What exactly did I do wrong?
The walls haven't been painted in a while.
Fargo! what the heck is wrong with you! Think about how you could not die instead of thinking about the crummy paint in the room!
She can have the journal back if she wants it...
The last one I actually said out loud, and I still haven't looked up like she told me to. "I don't want the silly little journal now. You've discovered it's powers, and now it's useless to me and everyone else who believes." She murmured with disgust.
I finally got the strength to look up "I didn't mean to cause any harm! I didn't mean to hurt anybody! I'm really sorry. I haven't told anybody about it, promise." I swore on my life which was seeming to be coming to an end at this point.
"Too late. Run Fargo. Run if you want to live." She mocked, grinning. The only problem was, there was nowhere to run. She was blocking the door. "Tell you what, I'll give you a two minute head start. This will make the case last longer." The demon explained.
"Okay...? Thanks?" I questioned. And I was out the door faster than the speed of light. I knew where I was headed, but would there be anybody left? I ran as fast as I had in a really long time. I'd planned to go up in a tree somewhere and go off into my perfect world, when all of a sudden, I heard a bit of thundering. Or at least that's what it sounded like. But I was way off.
We're coming for you, and you can't stop us a voice repeated over and over again in my head like a broken record.
Oh yeah, watch me. I replied terrified. I really was just running, I didn't know how to stop them. I cried to Emma for help. She responded right away
I'm here.... the real question would be where are you
Not where you think. I need you in the real world right now
Um... why exactly
There's really to time to explain. IT'S LIFE OR DEATH RIGHT NOW
WHAT'D YOU DO!?!?
Emma, just come. I'll tell you if I survive
I can't remember? I live like an hour away...
PLEASE! I NEED YOU!
Okay, okay. Where do you want me to meet you?
Thank god you're coming! Meet me on Main Street
See you then, bye.
Feeling a smidge more comfortable with myself, I ran even faster. I needed to find somewhere to hide where the demon couldn't find me. Correction; there was a whole mob of demons behind me. They all were from the orphanage. Even Kathy had those creepy silver eyes. She's been pulling a fake identity this whole time? And to think, I thought she was just trying to be nice. What a liar.
Wait a second Fargo. I kept my speed, but I was thinking more about what my mind was about to tell me before anything else. Emma might not really exist. She might not ever come. Think about it, have you ever had a real conversation with her before?
.............40 minutes later...............
Emma where are you?
Emma?
EEMMMMMAAAA!
Fargo? Shut up okay? I'm almost there, give me five more minutes
What does your car look like?
You'll know it when you see it
Hey Fargo? How have you not been caught yet? Hasn't that girl tracked you down?
She has, but she can't hurt me here
Where are you?
In the hospital
Emma literally choked on something The hospital?!?!?! Why'd you decide to hide there!
Because there's a lot of people here and none of which have their signature silver glowing eyes I shivered at the thought of Libby starring into my very soul. I looked into multiple people's eyes and none of them seemed to be that silver. Some were filled with depression, others with pain. There really wasn't anybody who seemed happy. Some gave me sad smiles, others just didn't try to hide the sadness and were silently sobbing into a relatives shoulder.
Earth to Fargo! My dad and I got lost...again
It was my turn to choke on air and use a quote from one of my favorite YouTubers in the world, "Again? what do you mean again?"
Sorry, but you weren't responding to me. You never seem to be all there....
Yeah, yeah, I have problems. BUT THAT'S NOT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM RIGHT NOW.
Right, right, sorry. We're going to the hospital on Main Street right?
You are directionally challenged. I mentally face-palmed.
So I'm guessing that's a yes then
NOO I said sarcastically.
No? Then which hospital
Emma! I was joking!
Oh.... be there in a few then
She didn't respond until she actually got to the hospital. And she didn't look anything like I imagined her. She looked my age, and she was pretty. "Emma?"
"Yeah?" she gave me a smirk and a slight giggle "Not what you expected?"
"Not at all. You told me you were five?!"
"I didn't think you were real... did you think I was?"
"Not really..... THIS IS SOO COOL!"
"I know right? Now lets fight some demons"
She grabbed my wrist. Hard. I looked into her eyes, and my worst nightmare had just become real."
You're the believer, aren't you?
