Walking down the street gives me a sort of uncomfortable feeling. I can feel that something's off, but I just can't put my finger on it. I feel as though all of my senses have dulled down leaving me with a numb sense of touch. I can barely feel my bare feet against the sidewalk even though it should be scorching hot since it is the summer. I decide not to think about it and just keep walking. Though I do try my best not to think about it I have this sinking feeling that something is seriously wrong right now. Even the people seem off. Everyone has the same exact unsettling smile, which starts to get to me making this feeling that something is severely wrong worsen.
"Hey, Anna!" A familiar voice calls from behind me. I turn around to see my best friend, Charlie. He smiles at me in the same ominous way as the other people around us.
"Hey, Charlie." I respond to him, with still some strain in my voice, as i look him over questionably.
He wears a plain white t-shirt and a pair of white washed jeans, how strange. The Charlie i know always wears more than three colors. This seems too toned down for him. Even his hair which is usually a silver color with whatever color streak he decides to dye that week seems pretty dull.
"Are you ready?" He gives me look as if i know what he's talking about.
"Uhh, for what?" I continue to look him over, not exactly trusting anything at the moment.
"The test in history!" He says in an obvious tone of voice. "Mr.Wyte
Said we would have a test today. He said it would cover the history of the destroyers""Oh really?" I stare at him in confusion. We took that test two weeks ago, I say thinking to myself. "Well, I'll see you later." I pat him on the back and begin walking towards my parents who have gone ahead.
"Ahh-!" I turn around to see Charlie. His skin drying up. His eyes dulling. With his hair greying I think back to that flower in my dream. When I touched it it began to die. That's when it hit me. I just killed my friend. The friend that has been there since forever. He is now slowly dying in front of me and I am powerless to stop it.
"Charlie!" I fall to my knees as I begin to cry. The world around me slowly fades into darkness. Almost instantly I awaken to my dads by my bedside. I am in a green room with plants growing all over. With water flowing from the walls I know I am in a healers' hospital.
Healers are fragile and have to be with nature for the most part so places like these exist. They are meant to help a Healer regain her strength and help her get back on her feet again.
I go to say something but am interrupted by a maiden in Teal, a Magi. Magis are rare now in the more modern ages, but my dad tell me they used to be around in massive numbers. They're healings skills used to be unmatched by any healer, they were sent down from the heavens to bless the men of the lands who fought in great wars between clans, no one really knows why they just vanished, but after a while people stopped caring.
"She'll be fine, just make sure she doesn't get overwhelmed again," she says in a pristine tone of voice. "Also, nake sure she sleeps to a Lily of the Valley every night from now on, okay?"
"Thank so so much."
"Any time sir," she bows and then exits the room, leaving me alone with my fathers.
"Anna, would you care to explain what happened?" My father says with a demanding, yet concerned voice.
"What do you mean..? Haha,"
"Why do you look like you've just seen a ghost, dear?"
"Oh THAT, it's nothing, I'm completely fine dad," i force on a smile to hide the truth, but my dad sees through my terrible lies.
"Tell me." My father chimes in with a serious tone of voice, and that's when i know it's time to talk.
I talk to my parents all about the dreams i had been having, their reactions were expected, but still unsettling. Their eyes wide and their bodies rigid and tense, and now it is them who are the ones that seem like they have just seen a ghost.
"I-it's not possible..."
