Wings of Fire: Dark Skies

The Arena

She woke up in a dark cave with water dripping from the ceiling. She looked around and saw other dragons hidden in the shadows.

She could her several thoughts, all similar I'm scared, Help me..."H-hello?" Her question echoed around the cave sounding like hundreds of dragons asked the same question. One dragon stepped forward. It was another nightwing! But they were only a dragonet "Hi..." in the dim light Eclipse could pick out the young dragon's almost black, blue scales, she spoke once more, "I'm Nacht... do you know where we are?"

"No." replied Eclipse. "The Skywings just captured me and took me here." Suddenly a door opened into a bright sunny arena. Above, they could see Icewing and Seawing prisoners up on high spires. Two Skywings entered the cave that Eclipse and Nacht were sharing. They shoved Eclipse and Nacht out into the arena. A frantic Icewing was being shoved out of the door on the opposite side of the arena.

His silver-white scales glistened in the light of the midday sun, He looked over to the two nightwings, "Im-im sorry but I have to please save my daughter her name is Glacier." He looked at the ground, took a deep breath  as all the skywings in the stadium screamed "FIGHT FIGHT!"He took a deep breath and leaped towards the young dragonets. Eclipse jumped out of the way, Nacht ducked. The Icewings serrated claws scraping her small wings, Nacht screamed out in pain. Eclipse ran towards the Ice wing and rammed into him flipping him onto his back. She was getting ready to shoot a burst of flame at the white dragon, when he gave a strong kick to her gut. The Icewing swiveled up, tears streaming from his eyes, "so so sorry..." he turned towards Nacht who was still on the sandy floor, blood from her wings turning the surrounding ground red, the Icewing glanced at the crowd the skywings cheering her on. Eclipse stood helpless she looked into the icewing's mind imsorryimsorryimsorryimsorry over and then he bit Nacht's neck snapping it in his jaws. The crowd went crazy. The Icewing turned towards Eclipse "Please save Glacier..." Then he stabbed himself, blue blood mixing with Nacht's red.

Eclipse looked at the scene in front of her helplessly. She couldn't believe this was happening to her, the blue blood still sitting in puddles around her. She wished that she could be back with her parents in her village but she knew that could not be, the skywings had taken them. Wait, Eclipse thought. I'm with the skywings, they should be here. Hope flooded through her. For the first time since the skywings had taken her village she had something. She had hope. Suddenly she was being dragged back by two skywings. She tried to snap at them but it was no use they put a metal band around her snout. They threw her back into the dungeon.
