The Rainforest

... Her eyes fluttered open. Where am I? She could smell the fresh scent of fruit and the ocean. There were trees, and so many different sounds and scents. "Hey! You're awake!" came a voice. A bright, green, and slender face came into view.

"Who...who are you?" Asked Eclipse.

He seems okay, but I can't trust anyone anymore."I'm Eclipse. W-What happened?" Boa sat next to her, "Well you landed on a rock, and fell asleep. I saw the skywings coming your way, so I camouflaged in front of you, and they flew away. Then I brought you here." Said Boa.

"Well where are we now?" She asked.

Boa stared at her dumbstruck, "THE RAINFOREST!!!"

¨Boa! Who are you talking to!¨ came a grumpy, insecure voice. A dark purple, broad dragon appeared from the thicket. 

¨Oh hey Aacai!¨ said Boa in a friendly manner.Aacai wore a small string of purple flowers and silver chain. "Woah where did ya get that!?" Boa swung over to Aacai and was staring at the necklace intently.

"Get out of the way sloth face!" Aacai yelled. Then he caught sight of Eclipse, "What is that!?!"Eclipse shied away as Aacai walked over and studied her face and wings carefully. ¨Is that a NIGHTWING!?¨ He said, slightly disgusted.

¨Yea¨ said Boa. ¨Her name's Ecli-¨

¨Shut up!¨ Aacai interrupted. Eclipse wandered over to Boa's side."Ok so you thought it was a good idea to bring a Nightwing a flight away from our kingdom?" Aacai spat, 

"Well... technically you're the one who told her we're by the kingdom.." Boa said with a smirk. Aacai turned glaring at Boa

"I should turn you into a mellon! Maybe then you'd be useful!" He said with a hiss. Eclipse looked into his mind I could turn him into a mango, or maybe a beautiful diamond crown and give it to the queen.

"You're an animus!" Eclipse shouted, she walked over to Aacai and looked at him intently. "The Nightwings haven't had a animus in CENTURIES yet the rain wings have one?" Aacai looked thoroughly disgusted

"How did you know? Did Boa tell you? BOA I SWEAR!!" 

¨What? No I didn't!¨ protested Boa. ¨How did you know!" He turned to face Eclipse.

¨Oh..um.. I just guessed...¨ Aacai was about to protest when he heard the calls of rainwings in the distance calling ¨SUNBATHING TIME COME ON GET TO YOUR TREES! ¨This is terrible, Boa!¨ shouted Aacai, throwing his talons in the air, exasperated. ¨There's hundreds of rainwings who are gonna see us when we get to the rainforest kingdom, and we have a nightwing!!¨

"So we'll say we saved her!" Boa said delighted, "Come on Eclipse they'll love your wings! They're so sparkly!" Boa started heading towards the deeper part of the jungle. Eclipse looked back at Aacai,

 "Shouldn't we bring him?" Aacai glared at Eclipse and Boa,

"I hope Queen Toucan puts you in quicksand or..." he looked puzzled for a second "Does whatever we do to Nightwings!" Aacai then flew up into a tree and left. "Don't worry about him! I'm sure Queen Toucan will understand!" Boa said reassuringly, but Eclipse could tell in his mind he was worried about Aacai...

Eclipse followed Boa into the jungle. ¨Here¨ said Boa, handing her a fresh papaya. ¨Oh...thanks...I'm not much of a fruit dragon myself.¨

¨Just try it! No one can resist the fruit of the rainforest.¨ Eclipse took a small bite.

¨Mmm you're right!" She could hear Boa's thoughts racing. Does she really like it? What does she think of the rainforest? What does she think of me? Does she want to stay?

She had to shut him up or his mind up? Which ever "So Boa," his head snapped back towards her, " Is Aacai like your best buddy? Or what?" Of course she already knew the answer but she wanted to make small talk. Boa perked up right away, his scales turning a sickening bright pink 

"Well you see Aacai is my brother, but he's not a really good brother as he's mean to me all the time! Like this one blah blah blah BLAH blah blah" at this point Eclipse's natural skill of blocking out boring stuff kicked in, she usually used this when her little cousin Pluto came over but it seemed to work here too. Boa had finally ended his story. "OH we're here!" Boa pushed away a couple branches, "TADA!!" He pointed to a whole village of huts built into the trees. Dragons were laying in hammocks or on platforms. She inhaled the sweet smell of unique flowers and fruits filled her senses, my mom would love to see this she thought...

But of course her mother and the rest of the nightwings in her village had been captured by the skywing soldiers...

Suddenly there was a horrifying scream and skywings burst through the trees. Eclipse saw the rainwings disappear into the trees and camouflage. Aacai ran over to Boa and Eclipse. "What have you DONE!?" He yelled.It's because of you!" He turned hissing at Eclipse. "You led these skywings to my kingdom!" The skywings had caught fleeing rainwings and were chaining them up. "Where is the nightwing?" He hissed, grabbing a rainwing's neck and shaking him. "Um uh um I don't know!" He replied innocently.

Aacai turned as a skywing breathed red-hot fire onto a tree covered in camouflaged rainwings.

Eclipse turned to Aacai "You have to help them!" Aacai looked around, "How?" Eclipse lost it "I HAVE MIND READING POWERS I KNOW YOU'RE AN ANIMUS HELP THEM!!" She yelled at Aacai, his scales turned white and green, "I-I don't know how.. all I've ever enchanted was this necklace." He pointed at the small chain around his neck. "Well what does it do?" Eclipse stared attently at the poor Rainwing. Aacai looked guilty down, "It brings me the best fruit whenever I'm hungry..."

"Just try!" Said Eclipse. "Eclipse..he doesn't like to talk about his powers..." whispered Boa.The skywings were still gathering up rainwings, even though they were perfectly camouflaged. Eclipse noticed small rubies and emeralds near their eyes, and she presumed it helped them see camouflaged rainwings. Of course! That's why they're here... They could see right past Boa.. Suddenly she was alone. She saw a tail disappear into the forest and Boa calling "Eclipse! Come on!" but it was too late...

Eclipse felt something hit the back of her head and everything went dark...
