"So... have you thought of a name?" Sarah looked at me from across the living room with a questioning look on her face.

I sighed and sunk further back into the couch. I looked down at the dog and noticed that he thumped his tail against something or rather anything that it could come in contact with. I tilted my head as we kind of had a staring contest. I know right? Having a staring contest with a dog is weird. I stood up and walked towards the dog. I placed my hands on either side of the dogs face as I stared into its eyes. Green eyes. This dog had green eyes. How peculiar. I tilted my head and smiled.

"How about Thumper?" I looked up at Sarah and she smiled at me.

"It suits him." She got up and came to sit next to me. As she reached her hand out to pet Thumper, she started humming.

I looked up and noticed that Dan was staring at me. He blushed and looked away. I smiled and walked over to him.

"Whatcha look'n at?" I raised an eyebrow with a smirk plastered on my face.

"The most beautiful thing in the world." He smiled at me then added. "I'm look'n at the dog." I frowned and punched his shoulder earning a laugh from him.

"I'm kidding! Chill..." He looked at me with a happy and genuine smile. He then opened his arms and pulled me into him. He rested his head in the crook of my neck as I slowly rubbed my fingers through his hair. "I was really looking at you." He mumbled causing me to blush.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For getting me Thumper. I feel like I really needed him right now." I smiled and whispered into his ear. He pulled away and looked into  my eyes.

"What do you mean?" Dan looked worried as he furrowed his brows. I sighed and sunk into his chest. The thoughts of everything going on in my life really brought tears to my eyes. I shook my head and muttered, "Nothing."

"Valorie... please tell me." He looked down into my eyes before sighing. "Alright, com'on." I felt him move his hands around my thighs and then lift me up bridal style.

"What are you doing?" I looked at him and then over his shoulder to see Thumper following close behind.

"I'm taking you to the one place you always open up." We walked out into the hot sun as he closed the front door behind us. I noticed a neighbor walking their dog and a mother walking with a stroller. On days like today, I just wanna lay in the grass and feel the sun on my skin.

He placed me in the passenger seat of the car before shutting the door. Thumper hopped in the back and looked up at me with big eyes. Dan plopped down in the drivers and started the car. The car was silent. I don't like it when it's silent. So, I reached forward and turned on the radio. Believer by Imagine Dragons blasted through the speakers making me bob my head. I looked back at thumper and laughed. His small head bobbed up and down as he switched his weight from one paw to another. I turned back to the front and started lip syncing to the music.

You made me a, you made me a believer, believer
You break me down, you build me up believer, believer
I let the bullets fly, oh let them rain
My luck, my love, my god, they came from
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Dan watching me with a smirk on his face. I looked over at him with a smile as I continued to lip sync.

We pulled up to a a park and we got out of the car. I smiled as I looked at my surroundings. We used to come here almost everyday before my parents death. We had a little spot at the edge of the park at the top of the mountain.
