Hey guys, this artwork was actually for a contest that is hosted by @maruncholic in instagram. Well, sadly I didn't won but that's alright since I gain a new experience from it. Maybe I should've make the meaing behind my drawing deeper.

I actually knew about this contest after there's a '10 hours left' announcement. I didn't know about the contest earlier as I haven't even make my instagram account at that time. So, after I read the announcement I quickly draw my entry. Sure... it seems rushed especially the hair part omg XD

But all in all I had fun drawing this. And no, I didn't do this for 10 hours straight since my family decided that it would be a great idea to have a dinner outside, my time was cut off by around 3 to 4 hours. I'm happy that I finished this in time though.. I stayed awake until around 4 to 5 am in the morning just to finish this omg. But anyways, let's move on with the drawing~~

The contest requires me to draw an emotion or feeling to unfreeze the heart of the host's character. The heart of the host's character was froze thus, he cannot feel anything. I'm suppose to introduce an emotion that may move his heart and make him feel again.

The title of my drawing would be, "OPIA".

Opia is the ambiguous intensity of looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable—their pupils glittering, bottomless and opaque—as if you were peering through a hole in the door of a house, able to tell that there's someone standing there, but unable to tell if you're looking in or looking out.

The reason why I choose this emotion is that I feel that many are oblivious of this feeling. Regardless, it's a common emotion that we experienced when our eyes meet someone else's. An emotion that is triggered by a simple act of holding one's gaze. This act may just be a small part in our daily life but it's one of the things that made us feel, that made us a human. It does not have to be complicated nor deep to triggered one feeling as we, humans, are vulnerable especially when it comes to our emotions.

The process~~

Firstly, the sketch! I used my sister as a reference for the sketch. I asked her to pose with her hands covering her face (except the eyes). The eyes reflects of one's uncomfortable feeling.
