Chapter 1-Crushing?

"Yeah! Alright!" I giggled holding virgo's key up in the air.

"That was fun, not too hard though." Natsu replied

We had just finished a quest we took off the board. Not to hard, we just had to defeat a monster living in the woods near this small village. Since it wasn't too hard just me and Natsu went and it seemed like something was off with Natsu this time... He looked at me different and barely even let me get close to the monster. It's like he was trying to protect me even though I didn't need it... I wonder if something is going on.

"C'mon Luce, let's go get our reward and get some lunch. I'm starving!!" Natsu looked at me playfully, with his prize winning smile.

"Haha, when are you not?" I shook my head laughing.

He laughed too and just put his arm around my shoulders as we walked to the guild hall.

"FINALLY!! FOOD!!" Natsu yelled running to the counter and grabbing food from Mira and scarfing all of it down making a huge mess as always.

"Aren't you gonna have any Lucy?" He looked at me.

"No, I'm fine. I ate before we left so I'm not to hungry." I smiled. I lied...

Thankfully he seemed to brush it off and continue eating.

After Natsu finished and as always, I paid, we started walking back to my house. Because we always go to my house for some reason. And we're walking because Natsu basically got on his knees and begged not to take a train. But it was okay, it nice out and there's a beautiful sunset to admire as we walk.

"Hey Luce...?" Natsu looked at me.

"Mhmm?" I kept looking ahead, ignoring eye contact.

"Are you okay? You haven't been eating a lot lately and you've been staying home a lot."

"Oh, yeah Natsu. I'm fine." I looked at him with a smile, hoping to convince him.

He looked at me with concern. Seemingly not buying it. I could tell he didn't believe me.

"Really Natsu, everything is fine, love."

He quickly looked at me with shock.

Oh no... Please don't tell me that I really said that out loud,,.

Thankfully he didn't question it and we just kept walking. As we were walking something kind of strange happened.... Natsu's hand brushed mine and sparks ignited. It had been happening for a while, but I didn't want to say anything, just in case he didn't feel it. But this time stayed he kept his hand there as if he was reaching for mine, but too scared to grab it. I stopped and looked at him with curiosity.

"You okay Lucy? Why did you stop?" He asked like that didn't just happen.

I brushed it off my mind. Maybe I was just over thinking it. "Yea, I'm fine..." And kept walking..

I sighed. How I longed to hold Natsu's hand... Just to feel his skin against mine. To have him hold me and kiss my cheek or forehead. To tell me I'm the only one he wants... I've been completely head over heels with the boy since I joined the guild... But he is too hard headed to notice. Besides he is too perfect for someone like me anyways.

I quickly change the subject. "So where's Happy?"

He looked away with a sort of disappointment in his face."He's over at Fairy Hills with Carla."

"Oh, those two really hit it off didn't they?" I giggled.

"Yea..." He replied.

Why is he disappointed? I could definitely tell in his voice but what would it be about? Did I say some thing wrong...? No he can't be upset because I called him love, could he? I really need to find some answers... Oh, I have a perfect idea!

"Hey Natsu, wanna play a game?" I asked excitedly.

He looked at me, disappointment still in his eyes but also with a glint of curiosity.

"Sure Luce... What game?"

"It's called 20 questions."

"Oh hmm, how do you win?" He looked at me while tilting his head.

I giggled at his ignorance. "You don't win, you just take turns asking questions... Although whenever I play we never really stop or get to 20." I laughed.

"Hmm okay, you go first then." He agreed, starting to look ahead of him.

"Okay. Hmm... Well, whats your favorite food?"

"Oh! I like spicy ramen!" He said excited and clearly cheered up. "Okay hmm favorite color Luce?"

"Oh easy!" I giggled. "Pink!" I smiled at him and blushed. "Favorite dragon slayer other than yourself?"

He laughed. "Definitely my smol bean Wendy, duh. Favorite celestial spirit?"

"Oh my maiden Virgo all the way, haha. She calls me princess and I absolutely I love it." I say with a wink.

Okay this is it. Its time I get some answers.

"Any crushes Natsu?" I looked at him, arching an eye brow.

His eyes got wide and he started visibly got tense. Was he nervous?

"C'mon" I say nudging him. "Spit it out like venom, you know you can tell me."

He hid his face with his bangs but I could feel him blushing. Suddenly, He stopped walking. I stopped and looked at him.

"Whats wrong, Nats-"  I was cut off by a kiss. My head swam.

Did he just...? Are we...?

A few seconds later he stopped and pulled away. I didn't want him to, I'd been waiting for that moment forever, but I knew we had to get home at some point. I couldn't stop blushing the whole way home as I replayed the scene in my head. Unfortunately the walk was silent since I had no clue what that meant.

Was that supposed to answer my question? If so, it only gave me more questions, such as, excuse me... What?

When we reached my house, we stopped in front of my door.

"Lucy...?"

I looked at him still blushing. "Yes?"

"Who do you have a crush on?"

"If I told you.." I started nervously. "I'm afraid it might ruin our friendship."

He hid his face again "It won't, just... Tell me... I need to know."

Woah... Was Natsu getting serious...? I sat on the steps in front of my door and let out a big frustrating sigh.

After a long pause, I sighed and finally answered. "You Natsu... I have a crush on you... To be honest, I always have, and I probably always will..." I say and get up trying to quickly go inside to hide my blushing face and brace my self for the rejection. But instead, I was suddenly pulled off the stairs and into the warmest hug I've ever felt.

"I love you Lucy."

I stand there in shock with the dragon slayer arms wrapped tightly around me.

He... Loves... Me?
