Why would he ask her?

Victoria must have asked herself this question a hundred times on her way home.

She was just an ordinary student. Nothing outstanding about her. She wasn't very active in class discussions, nor had she ever had a conversation with professor Sobitan outside of class so why would he offer her a job of any kind?

Victoria replayed the conversation she had with her professor earlier that day;

Professor Sobitan:  "Miss Richards as you know I am not from the US and as such I don't really know my way around the city. I have been here for only a few months and I have only been from home to work. However, my family along with their friends are visiting me this Summer and I would love to host them at my house. As such I would love to host a series of dinner parties to entertain them. I have heard from a colleague that you have a part time job with renowned event planner Andre Wells and as such I would love to acquire your services to plan these events".

Victoria: "Thank you very much for the offer professor, but I am just an intern for Mr. Wells. I have never planned any of the events on my own. I merely assist she said slightly blushing.

"Why the hell are you blushing Victoria!" her inner self screamed at her "Pull yourself together!" But she couldn't help it as for the first time she was standing intimately close to him. She could see the tiny stubbles of hair that were left on his chin and lower jaw after a shave. The scent of his after shave pulled her in; a floral note, atop a base of vanilla, musky, sandalwood, guaiac wood and amber. His eyes a cloudy, muted shade of gray that seemed to be able to see past hers and gave themselves access to her inner most thoughts.

She stepped back. She felt light headed, not able to think straight standing so close to this man.

Professor Sobitan: "Oh, call me Adebiyi. You're being too modest. I have heard great things about your work. I also took the liberty of calling Mr. Wells and he personally told me he could not think of anyone else he would recommend for the job".

Victoria: "Aade-ebe-ye" she struggled to pronounce his name "Professor Sobitan, I am sure there's someone more qualified for the job that you could hire"

He must have realized that she had stepped back in an effort to created some distance between them. He stepped closure to her.

Adebiyi: "But I would love to have you" he smirked "for this job" he added after a ten second pause.

Victoria was growing more and more uncomfortable by the second. She had never felt so many butterflies in her stomach before. her palms began sweating and she could have sworn she felt herself shaking.

Victoria: "Could I think about it and get back to you?"

Adebiyi: "Sure, but you have not heard the stipulations of the job. You would not only be required to plan these events, but you would also be expected to accompany my family and myself on outings. You see I would love to give them a tour of the city, and you would be required to recommend the best places to visit, dine, extra."

God is this man for real? He wants me to spend my Summer being a glorified tour guide?

Adebiyi: "You would also need to stay with us at  my house. It would make it easier for you to accompany us on these 'outings'" He said the word 'outings' in a tone that suggest that there was some secrets of a sinister plan only he knew about.

Victoria stood wide eyed not sure how to respond to all this.

Nikki: "Vicky are you coming?"

Nikki came back in and interrupted their conversation and seemly pulled Victoria out of the trance that Adebiyi had her under.

Nikki: "Oh, sorry professor Sobitan"

She said in a flirtatious voice when  she noticed that her friend Victoria was talking to the sexy professor.

Adebiyi: "That's OK Miss Castle".

He said politely and backed away from Vitoria. Returning to his desk and began packing up his things.

Adebiyi: "Miss Richards please let me know what you decide"

Adebiyi went in his bag and pulled out his business card which also had his personal number on it. He handed in to Victoria.

Adebiyi: "Call me with your answer"

As she took the card their hands brush against each other. Victoria liked the feelings it sent down her spine... as well as other places. Her face turned red at where her thoughts were headed.

She left the lecture room with her friend Nikki who wanted "every juicy detail" about their conversation. When Victoria told her about the job offer Nikki insisted that she take the job. She told her friend that she would discuss it with her mother later that night and come to a decision. She however, have not been able to stop thinking about Adebiyi since their conversation.

She started thinking about him differently now. She now saw him in a completely light. He was no longer just her cocky professor.

She decided to Skype with Omari to take her mind off Adebiyi.

"What are you doing?" Adebiyi thought to himself "She's your student"

"Well technically she's not anymore" his dirty mind answered.

He had noticed Victoria from the beginning of the semester when she walked in the class holding a pile of books in her hands. She stood out to him as it was just the second day of the semester and he was impressed as well as found it  surprising that she had already started on the reading list. As the semester progressed he noticed that she never participated in the discussions and only really spoke to her only apparent friend Nikki. However, she was one of the best writers he had every come across. He could feel her passion for the work by reading through her term papers. But that was not the only thing that pulled him to her. Her molasses looking skin and her curly dark brown hair which fell on her shoulders and framed her face. Full red lips and piercing light brown eyes. God she looked exotic.

Is she the Queen Nefertiti reincarnated? He often asked himself.

Her presence often distracted him and he would fight not to look at her in an effort to keep his train of thought.

But today when he stopped her and offered her the job. He lost it and his senses ran wild. She was like a magnet pulling him in and too close became not close enough. He wanted her. The job he had planned on offering her was to be a teacher's assistant for his summer course but for some reason his mouth stopped taking instructions from his brain. He basically asked her to live with him for the summer.

He had asked her other International Relations lecturers about her as he was impressed by her work and wanted to get their advice as to whether she would be able to handle the teacher's assistant position. They told him how responsible and mature she was. She managed her time well and created a balance between work and her studies.

This made him like her even more.

Now standing this close to her, smelling the coconut oil in her hair, and strawberries on her skin. "God I'm in trouble" he thought.

He notice the freckles on her face that looked like gold dust strategically sprinkled on the top of her nose and her cheeks. He admired God's handy work.

The aroma from her lipstick was strong. It was light pink but pleasantly smelled like chocolate. He couldn't help but noticed the loose strand of hair that had found its way on her bottom lip and he became jealous of that single strand of hair. He wanted to remove it and replace it with his lips. He fought the urge, but she was pulling him in and he was no longer able to control himself.

Thankfully her friend Miss Castle had interrupted when she did.

Yes He's definitely in trouble

He would have to now call her employer Mr. Wells to create some truth to the story he concocted.
