The Winter kingdom… this was once my home, as the name can tell it was a wonderful place with a forever winter season. The kingdom was a forest in most of it, and snow in all of it, It was beautiful, you could hear a peaceful silence in most of it, a sudden drumming sound is in place from time to time, it is the playful sound of the deers going, coming, dancing and running. If you were lucky (or unlucky) enough you can play with them as they are really friendly (not that it would stop them to step on your tail…) Any how… in the forest are a couple of lonely cabins around, it is lovely to look inside and find a warm family in their home.

Just by looking up you could see the castle in the middle of the forest, ice castle? crystal castle? Oh! that’s it! The crystal castle, it was a wonderful sight any time you look, it really doesn’t matter if you had lived hundreds of years looking at it, it will always amaze you. It’s name comes from the construction itself, Made mostly from thin ice made it look so fragile, yet the incredible silver made structure and decoration held it all up. At day it seems to shine like diamond, but the true lovely sight was at full moon night.

I still remember the first time I got the chance to look at that wonder… Just like rising to the sky and taking the white light of the moon for a bath, and rather than just reflect it, the castle seems to drink it, enjoy it and let it out with more strength, and let the silver fulfill all the kingdom. It is a wonderful sight and once a year under the October full moon comes in place a festival, obviously called “silvernight”. The music and dancing filled the gardens of the castle, happiness and silliness goes on all night and it is all hosted by the very own princess. A silvernight of joy and beaut, and suddenly it all stopped, the dancing was over and the music was replaced by little mumbling… At the top of the castle doors, in the balcony were The winter King and Queen, a couple of big deer like… well deers. The king was a majestic gold colored deer with a huge antlers like a crown, while the Queen was white and thin but with a lonely horn in the middle of her forehead like a gorgeous unicorn, (was she?) But that wasn’t the sight that made me feel like a dumb tourist (which I was), No, the gorgeous sight was her, Just between them was the princess, a thin and beautiful young girl, her curly hair was only decorated by a silver circlet that hold a cute little horn in the middle, her siluette was framed in a wonderful withe and silver dress… I’m sorry as much as I try I could never truly describe the sight. By the time my fool amazed self came back to earth the initial ceremony was over, and the joy was all over again, so I left the gardens and went to find my brother… A Fox knight know by the name of Sir Dover, personal bodyguard of the Princess (something he would never stop to scrub into my face, ever!).

The doors of the castle were huge! I mean… huge! well I’m a fox so most of the things look really damn big for me but this doors… any way… where was I? Oh yes, huge! and..

- Mr? A cute little blue bird said.

- Yes?

- Are you Sir Dover’s brother?

- That I am.

-If you please follow me, I’ll be glad to take you to him. She said.

I followed the little blue bird inside the castle, and It was as wonderful from the inside as it was from the outside. The candles bathed it all with a soft light, and even when the carpets where made of pure snow there was a really warm feeling within, but suddenly my thoughts were cut off.

- Is it you first time in the castle?

- It is (In the kingdom to be true) - It’s really wonderful. I said- It really is. Said the little bird while we kept walking down the hallway. -It is home of the Princess and her Court, they are not many, thats why it seems all empty.

- And what about the King and Queen?

She stoped and smiled at me. -You really are new arround here. The King and Queen are only seen this night, they only come to the festival and then leave to their runs.

- I see.

I felt ashamed by my ignorance, as it was clear that everybody knew about the kings jobs, which  I found out later, the king was something called a sun runner, he was constantly geting the sunlight around, as for the queen she was known as the wind runner, she was responsable of the wind that went trought all the forest… it sound… nevermind.

My blue escort must have noticed my dumb and ashamed self and explain a little more about the kingdom.

The princess, Lady Ariadne, was the true ruled of the kingdom, she was in charge of all the tecnichal stuff, her court was mostly a really handcount short council, but they were more like companions than advisers, and there was, of course, Sir Dover…

-Brother… He said as I steped inside the throne room.

-Hello Dover. I said in a uninterested and maybe a little unrespectful tone that made him look at me with wide eyes as a soft ‘Ahem’ came from side… when I look up I felt enchanted and dumb, mostly dumb as the Princess was looking at me with an amused smile.

-I’m sorry your majesty… He started, but with a simple hand movement the Princess silenced him and got up my way.

-It’s ok dear. she said while petting my flufy and ashamed head… so nice.

As she look a me I could only get the feeling of calm happines, and leave myself to it, (of course no sane fox would reject the silk touch of a beautiful princess, doy!). She smiled at me

-I hope you enjoy your stay little one. And left me in with Dover who just looked at me in such a despective look.

-You’ll never change , will you? So dumb…

And just like that he left behind Lady Ariadne.

Oh yes!, that was my glorious first impression with the princess, brother and whole winter kingdom, which would be my home for some time…
