He had brought me to a small bakery in the town and began examining the breads, as i freak out in the corner of the idea of skipping school."I've never skipped school before," I admitted shyly, "well, i guess my grades can't get any more crepe," I laughed coldly, "It's not like my life depends on random knowledge about bread-Indians and who won the war."
"um...excuse me, are you a crustomer?" a voice came from behind us.
"yes, could I get this please." Phil placed 13 separate slices of plain white bread onto the counter.
"Phil, seriously, you can't do this," It felt like the temperature was rising, it was beginning to get overwhelming.
"What? Dan are you alright?" he asked concerned as I baked up against the wall with heavy breaths.
"Thirteen's.....an....unlucky....number" I spluttered out. Phil's eyes widened as the shop assistant had almost finished counting up the money for the bread. He quickly got another slice off the shelf as fast as he could.
"Doughnut forget this one." He said to the lady.
"Sorry" I replied, catching my breath, realising how stupid I must have looked.
"There's nothing to be sorry about, loaf." Did he just call me loaf? Suddenly I felt butterflies in my stomach
.
"Do you wanna crumb back to mine?" Phil asked, smiling.
