I walked through the front door to my house, smiling. I don't know why, I think I can blame the weather. I dropped my bag against the wall and walked to my room. I didn't know what sister I would meet in there. Would she be really sick or would she be the happy sister I've known my entire life. The house was really silent, almost creepy. I knew Mackenzie would be home but, how could she be this silent?

As I walked through the door to my room I got a surprise. The room was full of glasses and dishes. What had she been doing? I looked around to see if I could find one spot in the room that was clean. Only my bed was clean and the space around the window. I tip toed through the mess and got to my bed. Threw myself into it and rolled on to my stomach. I didn't think of Mackenzie. I didn't care about her at that moment. I just laid there, not moving only breathing into my pillow. For the first time of the day, my mind didn't have anything to say. Not one thought. But suddenly Mackenzie got back into thoughts. Where could she be? Surely she wasn't in our room. I lifted my head from my pillow and looked around. I sat up and wondered. I walked out of the room and started looking around the house. But there was no Mackenzie in the house. I couldn't come up with one good idea, to figure out where she could be, until my mind reminded me that we have a backyard. I walked out the backdoor and stepped back out, into the sunlight. There she was sitting in one of the wooden chairs. She looked different. She had cut her hair short, and she wasn't wearing any makeup. The makeup isn't a bad thing, but it just make her look alive. She was sitting with a blanked around her body and had her legs up close to her chest. She looked strange with her "new" hair cut. You could clearly see she had cut it herself. It was in different lengths, at some points. If I had to be honest it looked terrible. I didn't understand why she had cut her hair. She had in all the time I've known her, loved her hair. I didn't move I just stood there frozen on the patio. At some point I hoped she wouldn't notice me standing there starring. I finally started walking to her grabbed one of the other chairs and placed it beside her.

"Hi..." I said as I sat down. Mackenzie didn't answer me she just kept looking out the sky, not moving. I chose to shut up and give her time to speak, but she never did. She was just silent.

"So... Why are you in the yard?" I tried once more to make her speak, but still no answer. This time she moved. I think she straightened of the way she sat. I couldn't do anything but wait. I raised from my chair and went inside. I grabbed a can of lemonade and two glasses, placed it on a tray. I went to grab my guitar and swung the strap around so the guitar was placed on my back. I grabbed the tray and walked back to the backyard. As I stepped out in the sun, I saw the same statue of Mackenzie as I left. I walked back to my chair and placed the tray on the grass and took of the guitar. I sat down and started playing.

'Where's the moment we needed the most?

You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

They tell me your blue skies fade to gray

They tell me your passion's gone away

I don't need no carryin' on'

"Come on, you know the lyrics, sing with me"

'You stand in the line just to hit a new low

You're faking a smile with the coffee you go

You tell me your life's been way off line

You're falling to pieces every time

And I don't need no carryin' on

Because you had a bad day

You're taking one down

You sing a sad song just to turn it around

You say you don't know
