*Kai's P.O.V.*

(Y/N) was gone. She moved a few months ago, but she was always on my mind. We hardly made any effort to keep in touch.  It made me disappointed in myself. School and my own life got in the way.

One day, I was looking through my room to find a pair of headphones I had misplaced. I sat on the floor to look under my bed. There was only a box under the bed.

"I don't remember putting a box under my bed," I say to myself. I pull the box out. It was lighter than I expected. I go up and sat on the bed. The box was a dark (F/C) shoebox. It was (Y/N)'s favorite color. Could she have left it? I pull of the top of the box.  There was a pile of papers. Each one had a different name on it. There was a paper for all of the people (Y/N) had been friends with. I glace at the lid. There was a note taped to it.

'Kai, when, or if, you find this, please give these to the people they are written to. I don't care if you read them. I would have given them to the people before I left, but I couldn't get myself to do so. ~(Y/N)'

I looked through the first paper. It had been for Aphmau. I glanced through it two times, incase I missed anything the first time. There was nothing that (Y/N) had ever mentioned to me. I was about to look through another paper when I realized what I was supposed to be doing. Reluctantly, I went back to doing what I was doing before.

It was late at night when I had finally found my headphones. There was no point in staying up any longer, so I got ready to sleep. I went and sat on my bed. The box was sitting on the bed next to me. I look at it, and notice something. On the side there were five words, 'The Things I Never Said.' Sighing, I put the lid back on, set it off to the side, then went to sleep.

The next morning I get to school earlier than I usually do. I sit on a bench outside of the school. I took the box with me. I start to read through the other papers. I glance up to see Aphmau walking to me. She sits down next to me.

"Hey, Kai," she says to me.

"Hey," I reply, handing her the paper with her name on it.

     "What's this?"

      "Read it. It's from (Y/N)"

She reads it and looks at me. "Did she really mean this?"  She asks.

     "I believe so," I say.

"Why didn't she tell me these things. I would have loved to know these things earlier..." Aphmau looks at her phone. "Anyways, come on we'll be late."

We walk to class. Throughout the day, I skim the papers, and give them to the people they were written for. I got to the point where I had about three papers left. None of them had names on them, So I had to look through them to figure it out. They seemed to be for the same person. I took the whole school day to figure it out.

The bell rang, and everyone around me got up. I sat for a few minutes more. I couldn't figure out who it was for. I finally got up and went home.

As I walked home, I thought even more about it. Maybe I missed something, maybe there was another paper, but it was lost. I got frustrated after a while and stopped worrying about it. The rest of the evening I finished homework I had from different classes. I do my nightly routine and go to bed.

I couldn't sleep that night. I couldn't stop thinking of the other papers. Suddenly, a thought hit me. I needed to read the papers. Being as quiet as possible, I got up and grabbed the remaining papers. For each paper (Y/N) had left, I only skinned through the papers. I believed it was rude to read through other people's things. This time was an exception. I read the papers as fast as I could. I was about to give up when I read the last sentence.

I love you, Kai...

~Timeskip!!~

I never got to tell (Y/N) how I felt about her. We were both blind. We couldn't see how much the we loved each other. (Y/N) was gone. She has probably moved on. How could I be so blind? Now I've missed my chance to tell her.

This repeated in my mind the next day. I did my best to hide my heartbreak, but people saw through the act. They asked me if I was okay, I replied with the same answer each time, yes. Aphmau stopped me in the hall after school.

"Are you okay, Kai? You seem kinda out of it today..." She asked me.

"I'm okay," I say, not bothering to hide that I wasn't.

She puts her hands on her hips. "You're not okay, are you? That's fine, you can tell me as we walk home!"

"You got me. Fine, I'll tell you."

As we walked, I told her everything. What the letter said, to how I was heartbroken about it all. She listened, and gave me her opinion on everything. We stop in front of her house. She turns to face me. "It's never to late," Aphmau says to me. She then giggles and walks inside. I roll my eyes at her. Maybe there is a chance I see (Y/N) again. I doubt it, honestly. I stare at the ground as I walk home. There is only one thing on my mind. What would have happened if I had told her sooner.
