The light breeze whips the skirt of my dress as I stand outside the Tsukiyomi home, waiting. I can feel my patience wearing thin. It's been 20 minutes, and Ikuto has yet to come out. He's probably still in bed. He's even lazier than Taro and I combined.

"If he makes me late today, I will never forgive him. I do not want to show up by myself." I grumble, approaching the front door and ringing the doorbell. A woman with long platinum blonde hair answers the door. It's his mother, Souko.

"Oh, it's you, Kano. Hello. I'm trying, but I can't get Ikuto to get up. He won't listen to me." She steps aside, letting me inside the house. I nod my head, leaving my shoes on the door mat. "I'll get him."

"Ikuto! You better not be in bed!" I shout, running upstairs. No response. He must still be asleep. Or ignore me.

Stupid cat. He just has to sleep in at the most inconvenient times.

Reaching his room, I slam the door open and turn on the lights. "Get up!" I yell, approaching the male curled up in bed. He doesn't seem to have a shirt on, and wore a silver cross around his neck.

Feeling my cheeks heat up, I grab his shoulders and shake him violently. "Hurry up! I'm not letting you skip today!" I slap his cheek a few times, which causes him to open his eyes.

"Go away..." he mumbles, turning away from me.

"No! You are NOT going to make me walk to school alone!" I yank his blankets off of him, before grabbing his legs and forcefully pulling him out of his bed, dropping him on the floor. A tired grunt escaped from his lips as his eyes flutter open again. "Get ready. We're leaving in 5 minutes." I growl, throwing his uniform at him, crossing my arms as I face the wall, waiting for him to get dressed.

I sound like a pissed mother, and I wish I didn't.

The sound of clothes rustling lets me know that he's getting dressed, and there's a part of me that wants to take a peek. But the other part of me starts to scold it for being perverted.

"Okay, I'm dressed, are you happy?" Ikuto's voice jolts me from my thoughts, making me turn around. Fortunately, he's not lying.

"Yeah, sure. Finish up, I'll be waiting downstairs." I tell him, leaving his bedroom.

"You got him up?" Souko asks, sitting on the sofa with a magazine in her hands, looking up.

"Yeah, he'll be down in a moment." I tell her as I slip my shoes back on, adjusting the strap on my bag. It doesn't take long for me to hear footsteps that belong to Ikuto.

"See you later, Miss Souko." I bid his mother goodbye, opening the door again, exiting the house with Ikuto following not far behind. He hadn't said a word to her.

"So, looks like I'm stuck with you for one more year." I comment, glancing at him from the corner of my eye.

"Yeah, sure. I'm graduating this year." He says in a nonchalant tone, his sapphire eyes shifting around. He seems to be looking for something.

"You're just going to leave me behind. You better not forget about me." I ordered.

"Mhm. You'll be fine, Kano. Nothing's going to happen." Ikuto rolls his eyes slightly, flicking my head, causing me to glare up at him.

Silence begins to fall, but it isn't awkward silence, it's only calm silence.

I can appreciate his presence, even years later.
