MEETING

—————

You sighed, closing the door to your apartment and beginning your descent down the staircase. It was just your luck that the elevator would be out of order the week you got a job. Being on the third floor meant walking up and down three flights of stairs everyday.

As annoying as it was, you would just have to deal with it, unless you enjoyed the thought of moving out, in which case you would be homeless and on the streets.

You heaved another sigh, the bags under your eyes proof that college work was keeping you up until ridiculous hours in the morning. Sleep is but a dream for you, ironically.

When you got to the lobby, you sent a lazy wave and a half smile to your neighbors before opening the front door. The November air was like a thousand needles prickling your skin, but it felt nice. You knew it would only get hotter later, so you figured you should appreciate the weather while it lasted.

Your cheeks turned rosy from the crisp air as you made your way towards the train station. You took your phone out of your pocket, plugging in your earbuds with one hand as you played a song with the other. As soon as they were placed in your ears, all of the background noise was cut off. Silence ensued for the next couple seconds as the songs intro eased into the music, delicate notes from a piano sounding quietly in your ears.

You hummed along to the songs, syncing your steps to the beat as it sped up. You sighed through your nose, the cold air making it visible. People brushed past you, hurrying to wherever they needed to go. You envied those who could stay at home all day, sleeping for as long as they'd like, or at least being able to work from home.

Finding a job has gotten to be so troublesome these days, you thought, stepping down into the station.

The air turned warm, the dozens of people standing together in the morning rush causing the temperature to rise. You inwardly cringed at the sight of the crowd. People have never been your favorite thing.

You lingered at the entrance for a moment, savoring the last moment of personal space for the next half hour. Your steps echoed slightly, but the sound was lost in the bustle of the crowd.

You looked around, observing the strangers around you. There were people with thick black coats, some with red. Those that didn't wear masks were showing off their makeup, most of it natural looking, as most of the people here were on their ways to work. One head stood out to you. They weren't wearing a hat, proudly showing off their brown, almost red, hair. Despite the fact that it was probably dyed, their hair appeared soft. You hummed slightly in mild interest.

The person turned around, revealing their face to you. He looked to be only a little taller than you. His skin was pale, rivaling that of Snow White herself. He wore the typical white mask, and seemed to have earbuds in as well.

You blinked, realizing that you had beens staring, and looked away, deciding to find the train you needed to board.

The announcement came on, informing everyone of the arriving cars. Yours was one of them.

You sighed, for probably the tenth time today. This was supposed to be your day off of school, but instead you had to waste it on a minimum wage job you got so you wouldn't have to live off of ramen and bottled water.

"I should be a rock in my next life," you thought, "Then I won't have to do anything..."

You shuffled to the open car door along with the other people waiting to board, scowling at the unwanted physical contact. You sighed in relief when you found an empty seat.

"I suppose waking up early has its perks," you reasoned.

You yawned as you saw someone sitting next to you. You realized that your playlist stopped, and that you forgot to press repeat. You squinted at the screen, it appearing very bright in the dim train lights. Your eyes stung with tiredness, your eyelids threatening to close at any moment.

Once you got the playlist going again, you glanced to your right, where you noticed the person that sat down beside you. It was the man from earlier, you realized, your eyes widening slightly. You hummed in acknowledgement when you saw him glancing at you.

He nodded back, his hair swaying slightly with the action, before opening a small notebook and starting to write.

You pushed a lock of your hair behind your ear, adjusting the earbud that was falling out.

The train shook with every turn, the rumbling of the wheels being heard through the music blasting in your ears. At one turn, it caused you to bump shoulders with the red-head next to you. You mumbled an apology, him doing the same from what you could see. The music blocked out his voice.

You looked up to the digital signs, seeing that the next stop was where you needed to be. You put your phone in your pocket, not having to put anything away, seeing as you didn't have a bag. All you had was your phone, wallet, and apartment keys anyways.

The train lurched again as it came to a stop, but you were prepared this time. You got up from your seat, the man beside you remaining seated, it seemed that he was heading towards the heart of Seoul.

You weaved through the crowd, trying to get out of the station as quickly as possible. You checked your phone, only had twenty minutes to get to the shop you work at.

Once out of the station and onto the streets, you sped up your walk, too lazy to run. You had enough time anyways.

You stopped at a small music shop, seeing the 'CLOSED' sign still on the door. You saw two other people inside, and decided that the door should be unlocked.

It was.

You stepped inside, feeling the slight breeze of a fan in the corner with the cash register. The two people looked over to you. One was a short girl with dark brown hair that reached just above her shoulders, thin bangs falling to her eyebrows. The other was a guy that looked to be about 5'8 with a messy head of black hair. They wore casual clothes, the boy with blue jeans and a band t-shirt, the girl with a black skirt and a long sleeved shirt, an rubber band on her wrist with the name of an artist unknown to you.

The boy smiled, "You must be Y/N!"

The girl waved at you, "I'm Mi-cha, this idiot here is Kyung."

"Hey!"

"The owner of the store isn't here, he only stops by on Fridays. I'm the manager, but as long as you don't cause any trouble, we'll be fine!" she finished, sending you a playful wink.

The guy, Kyung, laughed, "You'll work with us from opening to closing, uh, the only rule is to not steal anything. So, basically, common sense is all you need to keep your job."

"So all I have to do is not fuck anything up and I'll be able to stay?"

They laughed, beckoning you inside, "Welcome to the team! You'll fit right in"

A/N: So, this story takes place the November after N.O. was released, so in 2013. It's sort of an AU, but it's only because Suga rides the train every morning and he probably didn't do that. Sooo.....

Anyways, thank you so much for reading this! I'll try to have another chapter up soon!

Bye~
