The Padded Room

I was carried to my room by two men, one had my feet the other had my shoulders. I was still thrashing around, even within the restraints of the strait jacket they had me wrapped in. The warden followed closely behind the men and a woman with a key led them down into a dark hallway, stopping at the door on the end and opening it. The two men carrying me took me inside and set me down.
"This is a nice change in scenery." I stated optimistically.
"It's a padded cell." The warden said with a sneer.
"I was being sarcastic." I rolled my eyes at his stupidity as I was set down and propped up with my back against the wall.

"Why am I in a padded cell?" I asked as they closed the door, "Im a danger to you, not myself!!" I screamed, laughing, as the four of them walked away.
"She's crazy." The woman said.
"That's why she's here."

~1 Week Later~
Dick's P.O.V.

"You've known for a week!? And you kept this from me?! Bruce! I thought I could trust you!" I yelled angrily. I had just found out that Dolly was alive and actually was Mad Hatter. I took a vase off of the table in the dining room and through it against the wall.
"DICK! I'm sorry, but you are acting ridiculous!"
"No! I'm not. I've been in love with her for six years! I haven't seen her in five! I was forced on dates by you so that I could get over her! I never did, by the way! I thought I was in love with a dead girl, but I wasn't!" I yelled at him with all the emotion that had built up over the years.

"I'll go make some tea." Alfred stated as he hurriedly left the room. I watched him leave, then I looked back at Bruce, calming down before I spoke again.
"She's the reason I became Nightwing. She's the reason the suit's colours are black and blue- those were Blue Jay's colours." I pitched the bridge of my nose and fell into a chair. I felt his heavy hand on my shoulder.
"I called the old team. They'll be at Arkham in a few hours to visit her." Bruce explained. I wiped away a stray tear and nodded.

"Till then I have to go. I have some new recruits in the Young Justice League and they're about to go on their first mission." I stood up and began to leave the dining room, stopping when I was about to turn the corner, "And I'm breaking up with Babs."
"Are you sure? You don't even know if we can fix Dolores."
"Yes, I'm sure. I'm with Dolly for better or for worse."
"It'll probably be worse." He admitted thoughtfully.
"I knew that when you said she was Hatter." I gave him a nod and left.

     ~Time Skip~

      Dick's P.O.V

I pulled my car up to Arkham. When I got out my whole mood lightened. I would be seeing Dolly soon, and nothing could contain my excitement.

"Breathe, Dick, breathe." I walked inside of the large double doors, up to the front counter.
"I'm here to see Dolores Olivia Johnson-Wayne." I explained. She nodded and began typing quickly on her computer.
"Ah, yes. Mr. Grayson?" She asked, I nodded, "The others are waiting for you. I'm sure they haven't gone in yet. Rosie will lead you down." I thanked her as I began following Rosie who looked like a high school intern.

"Soooo..." Rosie drug out with a sweet, high pitched voice, as we came to a hallway, everyone else was there waiting, "Here's my number." She slipped a piece of paper in my hand and skipped away. I quickly crumbled the paper and threw it on the ground. I jogged up to where Bruce, Wally, Artemis, Connor, and Megan were waiting in the hallway outside of a cell.
"Hey, dude. Are you ready for this?" Wally greeted as he came up to me and we did a bro-hug.
"Y-yeah! I don't even know what to say."

   ~Dolly's P.O.V.~

I heard voices coming from outside my room. I looked around the room, at the walls, and smiled. By the diversity in voices I counted about five people.
"All we are going to do is visit, then talk about better treatment and possible relocation." My ears perked up at a new voice that came from what sounded like one of the ladies that work here, "Now, I know she's dangerous but don't worry; she's in a straight jacket." I looked down at my body, then over to the white jacket I had thrown on the floor a while ago.

    ~Dick's P.O.V.~

The brown haired women, whose name tag read "Sue", unlocked the door and opened it slowly. I was at the front, so I was the first to see Dolly. She was sitting in the middle of the dim room looking almost to her lap, a wicked grin, barley visible, plastered on her face, and a missing straight jacket. I looked around, on the walls was a red, oozing substance, that spelled out different names and phrases.

"I-is that b-b-blood?" Sue stuttered. She dropped her clipboard, but left in on the ground as she backed up. The clang of the wooden board made Dolly pick her head up.
"No?" DJ answered slowly. I looked at her with wide eyes.
"That's not a question you answer with another question." I persisted. Dolly looked at me, her grin transforming into a frown. I scanned her body for any cuts, she must have noticed because the next thing she said was "I told you already, I'm not a danger to myself. It's the rats' blood. They kept bothering me." She stood up and moved a step closer, "You would think that with the $100,000 grant you gave Arkham they'd be able to get rid of the rats, right? Brucey?"

Bruce pushed his way to the front of our crowd. He stood in front of me and cautiously made his way towards Dolly.
"Dolores, we just want to talk." Bruce said slowly and calmly.
"I know. I'm crazy, not stupid." Dolly sneered, she rolled her eyes, "And I can hear you through the door." She pointed a finger at her ear the at the door, "So let's get this over with." She stood up and followed us out without any problems.
