Gavin-

The WolfGuard quarters were dark, like always, and the smell that wafted through was overwhelming. Rowan, the damn fool, he kept the sick and dying down here, thinking that most wolves were unable to get sick. Though true we can still get sick, rarely.
I glanced back at Raven who looked around in awe, and also seemed to be resisting the urge to plug her nose, I don't blame her.

"Why is this place so dark?" Raven asked quietly, as if afraid someone would spring from the shadows and attack her. I shrugged in reply, the rooms have always been dark I've never really questioned the reasoning behind this place. Raven only frowned then walked on silently for a few moments.

"So, where is everyone in this smelly place?" She asked, This time Sam, an older wolf, stalked from the shadows.

"What's wrong with our home?" He challenged, I rolled my eyes. Sam always is the bully in most situations.

"I-I" Raven stammered holding up her hands defensively,

"I what?" Asked Sam stalking closer, he was suddenly shoved to the side by a woman who began scolding him for his actions. That could only be one person.

"That's Jane." I said to Raven as Sam and Jane went back and forth in an argument, "She keeps everyone in check." I added. Raven smiled seeing how Sam, the bully, was being pushed around by a woman not much older than he was.

"Sam! That's not how we treat guests!" Jane scolded angrily. "We hardly get any as it is!" Jane continued on. Raven's blue eyes sparkled in amusement and she put hand over her mouth to hide her laughter.

"Shove off woman!" Sam snarled pushing past Jane and walking away. Jane huffed angrily and smoothed out her shirt, she turned and walked to us, a huge smile on her face.

"Welcome!" She greeted cheerfully to Raven, who seemed reluctant. Raven finally smiled as she seemed to realize Jane would not attack her.

Jane turned to me next. "What's up fur-ball!" She greeted, messing up my already wild hair.

"Why do you call him that?" Raven asked curiously.

"oh well.... Because as a wolf Gavin has the puffiest fur!" She said finally her face lighting up as she remembered. I rolled my eyes, I hated the nickname. Raven smiled,

"I'm Raven." She finally introduced herself, Jane spun around and began walking away,

"Its nice to meet you! Sorry for the mess, I can never get these guys to clean up!" Jane said loudly, clearly hinting to the other people in the quarters.

"Is she always like this?" Raven asked quietly.

"All the time," I replied,

"I kind of like her." Raven giggled starting to follow Jane deeper into my home,

"She has short term memory loss, she may forget your name from time to time." I said quietly, Raven didn't reply but she kept following Jane into the dark chamber.

"We really never get anyone down here, except other wolves and the occasional human guard. Speaking of, Gavin, where is everyone?" Jane asked turning into a small room and fixing up a bed.

"Training, like all of us should be." I replied crossing my arms.

"Why do we need to train every day? I mean it's not like we do much." Jane murmured adding a few inaudible words under her breath.

"If you don't mind me asking," Raven started and Jane poked her head out of the room. "Gavin said that... you guys aren't real wolves." She continued trying to find a way to phrase it, Jane looked confused.

"Oh! Of course! We're not real wolves, we're werewolves! Major difference." Jane said her face lighting up, I sighed and had to keep myself from slamming my head against the closest wall.

"Jane that's not what she meant!" I told the woman, who looked confused again.

"Of course that's what she meant!" Jane huffed glaring at me. I looked at Raven who was hiding her laughter, "never mind, we'll ask someone else." I told her, Jane frowned but didn't complain.

"Sorry guys, I think I should go. The others might be wondering where I am." Raven said suddenly, I thought it was for another reason but the look on her face and the bag of meat and vegetables told me she just needed to get back.
"Thank you for letting me visit, I'll talk to you later." She smiled looking at me. With that she turned and headed back the way we came, the door opened and light flooded in briefly before it was closed heavily and the room was casted once more in darkness.
