I once met a hurricane
I didn't see her coming
But she swept me away,
Her harsh winds hurling me away.
I tried to stay put
Cling on to home
But home came with
And I was gone
I once met a tidal wave
She looked pleasant from far away
Then she flooded our town
And drowned our people
I put up barriers
Closed the doors and windows
She got through
And I went under
I once met a breeze
And she chilled me
Made me wrap up
She was too cool for me
She froze me to the core
Then knocked me off my feet
After a while, I got used to her
I once met a heatwave
She was hotter than hell
Instantly my mouth dried
And I felt queasy
I had brought water
And it, in theory, was enough
But she was hotter than anything anyone could have imagined.
I once met a volcano
People walked over her daily
Then she erupted,
Leaving no-one cold.
And we wore masks,
Still we choked
We ran as far as our legs could carry us
But she caught up.
I once met an earthquake
She shook me to the core
I watched as she took the ground from my feet
I stayed low,
Hid under tables and chairs
But still she managed to break my ground.
I once met a rainbow
She brightened my world
Kids stood in awe at the sight of her
And it was bliss
And she amazed me
Unfortunately I grew dependant on her
Left distraught when she disappeared
I once met a snowstorm
Her white heart enchanted me
And children played with her joyfully
She distracted me and gave me hypothermia
My lips blue as I kissed her
I embraced her, my fingertips blackening
And I loved her to sickness
Often have I fell for girls like the weather
These crushes came ad went like changing weather
And I love them all
