~ Addison's P.O.V~

I pulled out my basket ball jersey, my football jersey and well as my hockey one from the washing machine's dryer and stuffed them into my sports bag. Three matches in a day. Nothing I couldn't handle, so no probs. The girls were already in the car and waiting for me. Today was a Wednesday, so it was Veronica's turn to drive us to school. Her sleek silver Audi honked loudly outside.

'I'm coming, I'm coming! ' I shouted through my window.

'Quickly!' shouted Joann.

I rushed downstairs. 'Ready, baby?' asked Dad, who was sitting at the table, eating breakfast. My father was an amazing cook, so early in the morning he was eating bacon and eggs , and the smell made my mouth water. 'Not very, but will do,' I said. Dad chuckled. 'Just like your mother, ' he commented. I made a face at him. Mom and Dad were divorced, and my dad went out of his way to make fun of my mom. Not that I minded it. I loved my dad more than my mother, to be frank. The Audi honked again. 'There it goes again. My very popular daughter out with her very popular friends. ' said Dad, throwing me an apple from the basket. 'Eat it !' I caught it, kissed Dad on his cheek and ran out.

'Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, ' I muttered getting in the car. Veronica shook her head. 'How many jerseys today?' asked Sapphire. I went red. I hadn't washed them yesterday and I wasn't ready to give them to the water boy, so I washed it early that morning. It happened usually everyday. 'Three, ' I said. 'You guys will be there, won't you? It's an inter-school.' The girls nodded. I was in the girls school team for almost everything, and the others were the lead cheer girls of the school. 'God, the last football match was epic. You guys won, thanks to our cheering!' said Joann. 'Yeah right, we won because Katy got the winning goal.' I said. 'No, because you were captain. ' said Veronica. 'Ronnie, I'm just the captain. My team gets all the credit, not me, and they deserve it,' I said.

I looked outside. Nothing to see. I turned my attention to my friends. They were the best in the world, and even though all of us were as similar as cheese is to chalk, we loved each other to the extent of death.

Veronica Alliosn Edwards. She was the one with the confidence and sass. She could beat anyone with her comebacks and sassiness. Was that even a word? She was a pretty girl with shoulder length blonde hair with hot pink ends, and was the lead cheer girl of our school. She was also the leader of the school dance troope, and we won the Best Dance Group in Birmingham award last year. She was a straight A student. Actually all of us were. We called her Ronnie, after the Archies Comic character.

Joann was a unique piece altogether. Her full name is Joann Scarlet Dreyer. I know it sounds like dryer and I made fun of it once before she busted my ass out.She was an amazing friend. She could make you smile or laugh even when you were badly hurt and wanted to do nothing but cry. Joann had brown hair with wine red streaks, with stunning chocolate brown eyes. She was the captain of the school swimming team, and was also a cheer girl. She liked to be called Jojo, for some reason, and try to ask her why if you have the guts.

Sapphire. Her full name is Sapphire Christine Jones. She was a really shy and sweet girl. She is so shy almost like doesn't talk to anyone but once you got to know her she acted like she was on drugs and alcohol. She represented the school for literary works and painting competitions, arts, designing, and singing. The girls and I told her a million times that she should audition for the X-Factor, but she wasn't ready to listen or go. She too, was a cheer girl and in the dance troop just like Veronica. She had chocolate curls and light brown eyes. I don't know why but she was obsessed with us calling her Fire , but I called her Iri anyway as that matched her soft and shy personality.

Me. Come to think of it, I'm basically describing myself, but who gives a fuck? I've got jet black hair with lime green streaks and green eyes. Two things you'll notice if you get close to me, one, I swear a lot, and two, I'm really immature and quirky . I'm a sports girl. Not to brag or anything, but I was in the volleyball team, football team, Hockey, Tennis, badminton, and basketball team too. I loved to take my aggression out on something, and I realised pleasantly that I had a knack for sports. I was always the class topper. Yeah, yeah, nerd and all. By the way my full name was Addison Grace Norwell, and I went by Addie.

We reached school. The same old school gate welcomed us. Oakridge High. One of the best and most expensive schools in and around Britain. Many people were surrounding us as we got down from the car. Boys, mostly, and my team mates and the other cheer girls. Then one boy in particular walked over to us. It was Zach, the cassanova of our school. ' Hey Veronica, babe, wanna come over tonight? No one's gonna be home,' He asked winking at Veronica with that stupid smirk plastered on his face. She rolled her eyes and gave him a disgusted look. 'Just leave, Zach.' Veronica spat at him. 'You'll come around babe, you always do.' He walked away sending her a flying kiss. 'Ronnie, want me to punch him for you? Or I could do this the classic vampire style, I could easily drain him,' I said, gritting my teeth. Under other circumstances the girls would have laughed, but at the moment I guess they wanted me to do it. Zach never stopped pestering Ronnie. If that blithering fool doesn't get it from me by the end of the year my name isn't Addison. My sports muscles weren't for show.

'The football team, please come down to the principal's office. Same applies to the cheer leading squad.' The intercom announced at third period. Ha! Saved by the announcement. Mr.Andrews looked over at me, and smiled knowingly. 'There's your announcement, Miss Captain! Go on and make the school proud.' I picked up my books and made my way out after thanking Mr.Andrews. I ran to my locker, and tossed my books in. My sports bag was with the coach, so I had to walk to him. We had to win this game. This game decided whether we went to the State finals with the best schools around Birmingham. I was just warming up about winning this game when I dashed someone. 'Oh, I'm sorry, I was...' I stopped. 'Oh, Jeremy, ' I said. Jeremy, my ex- boyfriend. The girls said that I might still have some feelings towards him, and I haven't moved on, but who knows. I cried like anything the day we broke up, but the break up was mutual so I had to move on. Damn it. Forget I even opened my mouth. 'Hey,' he said, smiled and moved away, allowing me to pass. Such a sweet boy. I pushed the thought out of my head. 'Football, huh? All the best,' he said as I walked by. 'Thanks,' I muttered. He smiled easily and went his way. Whywhywhywhywhy? God, Addie, just quit it and move on ! Apparently, I couldn't. Just forget about it....

'Finally the captain decides to grace us with her presence,' said Veronica. 'I know, I'm sorry,' I said. The girls were standing in their amazing green cheer leader costumes with shiny silver-and-green pom poms, chewing bubble gum. I turned my attention to my team mates, all of them ready in their jerseys and shorts. 'Girls, are you ready ?' I asked, in the cheeriest voice possible. 'Yes we are!' shouted the girls. The coach entered with my sports bag.

'Here's your bag, captain,' he smiled. Coach Warne was my favourite teacher. 'Thanks Coach,' I laughed and went to change. This was going to be the best match. We've got to win. My team was in top form, and no one was backing out today. I went towards my team mates who formed a  circle around me. We put our hands together. 'HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO, SATELLITE RADIO, Y'ALL GETTING HIT WITH THE BOOM BOOM !!' we shouted loudly and burst into laughter. Coach Warne smiled. 'You're gonna win this, girls,' he said.

Boo to you, Opposition, I don't think you have a prayer.
