~ Niall's POV ~
By the time I woke up, my head was back to normal and the pain had eased. The boys were sitting on the couch on the other side of the bus, each one occupied in his own phone.
'Babe, I know,' explaied Zayn, pain quite clear in his voice. He was obviously speaking to Perrie.
'Yeah, I can't argue with Simon. He's a crackpot. But please try to understand.' cried a frustrated Louis over the phone. I walked upto them. 'Hey,' they greeted simultaneously. Harry was profusely apologizing to Gemma, but being the stubborn sister she was, she hung up on him in anger. Harry sighed.
'She's not listening, mate,' he said to me. I nodded and and sat down beside him. 'It's okay. We'll all sort this out, okay? Don't worry.' I said. The bus suddenly jerked to a stop. I looked at the boys with a confused expression. Liam gave me a blank expression and said, 'We're at school.'
We got out of the bus and gave the burly men dirty looks and a good load of cussing. One guy escorted us to the school gate. Like we didn't know where to go. As we neared the gate, as a ritual, we all made a cirle and put our hands together. 'HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO SATELLITE RADIO, Y'ALL GETTING HIT WITH THE BOOM BOOM!' we shouted. The security guard standing there gave us a weird look. We gave that guy also a dirty look, which said, Eew, this guy's looking at me. We walked into the school like studs.
When we neared the Principal's office, the man came rushing out. 'Oh, you must be the boys Mr. Cowell was talking about!' he exclaimed as soon as he saw us.
'Yeah, maybe,' muttered Louis.
'Yes, sir,'said Liam, glaring at Louis.
'Listen boys. No one's in school right now, as there's a football match going on. I'm just going there. You people want to tag along?' he asked. I bet this would be the first time any teacher was going to be this friendly with us. We looked at each other. Maybe a football match would lift our spirits a bit. 'Sure,' we chorused.
About fifteen minutes later, we found ourselves standing outside the huge stadium. The inter-schools were always played here, the Principal had said. I can't believe we actually sat and listened to him. Louis' hand itched to take his phone out, but Zayn kept smacking his hand everytime. When we walked in, the stadium was already filled with people - teenagers, to be exact, and high schoolers - with boards and whistles ad horns and stuff like that. The Principal insisted we sit with him. As we watched, he went to a corner, took his blazer ad shirt off and came back in a Oakwood High football jersey and jeans.
"WOOHOO!!" he shouted. I looked at him like he had three eyes. Zayn and Liam looked horrified to say the least. I turned to look at Louis and Harry. Both of them had humongous - and I repeat, humongous grins on their faces as they stood looking towards the ground. I followed their gaze and realised why they were smiling like lunatics - it was a girl's football match.
As I watched, a girl with straight black hair and green streaks walked up and shook hands with the other team's captain. She turned her back to me, and it had 'NORWELL' and a '7' written on her jersey along with a 'C' for captain. We were seated right in the front row with a hyperactive Principal, so I was having quite a good view from here.
But suddenly, about eight to ten cheerleaders came bounding over. Ugh, cheerleaders. They think they can get through anything just by flashing their bum. I ignored them and fixed my gaze on the game.
I never thought I'd enjoy a girls' football match, but within minutes into the game, tension gripped me and soon I was acting like audience. Shouting and screaming. Along with four hyperactive boys and a very crazy Principal. There were only six minutes for the end of the match. I bit my lip in tension. Kinney from our school (high school, college, whatever) got the ball from the opposition with difficulty.
Three minutes for the end. We were at 2-2, so the whole stadium held their breath. It was surprising how silent it could become, because just about fifteen minutes or so earlier, when we scored our second goal, the captain, Norwell, blew a kiss at the spectators and the crowd went beserk. The boys in the crowd totally cut loose, and it was getting a bit dangerous. Which is why you must never have a hot footbal player. Hot female football player.
The boys were at the edge of their seats. Kinney passed the ball over to Norwell, screaming "ADDIE !". Norwell immediately got the idea and kicked the ball straight into the goal within a fraction of a second. For a split second, it looked it we missed it. But the next moment, the entire stadium went up in a shout. "WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!", shouted the Principal, doing a victory dance with Louis.
I hugged Liam, who was so excited that he punched me in the stomach. Three cheergirls ran upto Norwell and tackled her to the ground. "We won Addie, we did it!!" one of them cried. Hmm. Addie, huh. We're gonna meet.
