Dear Ex,
I used to love you.
Much like how the sun loved the moon,
And died every night for her.
But you didn't love me.
I was just a stepping stone for you.
That's okay,
I'll find someone who will love me,
for all my quirks and struggles I'vegone through.
I'll find someone who looks at me
Like I'm the best person in the world.
I'll never forget you.
I'll use the way you hurt me to get towhere I want to go.
You taught me that I shouldn't dependon anyone,
Like I did with you.
So I thank you.
I thank you for my scars,
For my new found independence,
For my insecurities,
For my blemishes.
He will love me,
Like the sun loves the moon.
He will appreciate me.
Not just for my looks.
He will love me for who I am inside,
For what matters most,
For the sparkle in my eyes when itstarts to snow,
For my awkward noises I make when I'mbored,
For the fact I love 3 spoonfuls ofsugar in my tea,
That I'm me and not someone else.
He'll love me and won't flirt with myfriends.
He won't be you.
And I'm more than okay with that.
Because that will mean I'm strongerthan I was before.
Sincerely the girl you hurt,
From the girl that is ready to move on now.
