3rd Person POVThe search for Stiles had stopped years ago, the police department reluctantly presuming the sheriff's son dead. It took Stiles' group of supernatural friends a little longer before they too lost hope. It hurt, yes, but it was better than the pitiful looks that were cast the group's way when they refused to believe it.
There was no way Stiles was dead, and they wanted to believe that maybe Lydia's powers hadn't failed them again when there wasn't a scream that was left without a body to pair with it.
So eventually, they gave in to the overwhelming shadow that crept behind them, constantly trying to convince them that their friend was gone. The group that consisted of Scott, Allison, Lydia, and Derek took it the hardest, for they actually knew Stiles. And in Derek's case, he pretended to hate the kid, but he actually liked how Stiles would always talk to him like he wasn't scared of him; he was one of the only people that did that.
But eventually, things happened, and it was a little easier to move on from the catastrophic loss of their best friend. Derek used his newfound alpha powers to turn Isaac, Erica, and Boyd. An awkward Kitsune named Kira made herself a helpful part of the pack with all of the information about Japanese culture and folklore. A werecoyote named Malia was found in the woods and is trying to transition back to life as a human after almost a decade. Scott bit his first beta, Liam, and eventually his girlfriend Hayden. Liam's best friend Mason became 'the new pack human'. Ethan and Aiden, twin alphas that have the ability to conjoin into one giant monster found their way after helping Scott defeat the Alpha Pack.
School's starting again, and the soon-to-be seniors are gathered around the bookshelves, patiently waiting their turn to continue the tradition to sign them. It came to be Scott's turn, and he messily scrawled an S.M. before stopping for a brief moment, as if in thought. Then, he wrote a neat S.S. underneath his initials before stepping away.
"He would have been with us," Allison comforted, placing a consoling hand on his shoulder as the group stared at the looming letters. Malia and Kira slowly walked away, respectfully leaving the three to mourn for their friend.
Lydia gave the couple a light smile, ridding her brows of the slight crease that was beginning to form between them. "He still is." She unconsciously looked up at the ceiling, and Allison and Scott smiled up to, as if Stiles could see them.
But at that moment, Stiles had other problems on his hands.

"Tommy! Wake your bloody arse up!" Newt shouted, trying to keep the Gladers as far away from the psychotic Cranks as possible.
Thomas jumped from his restless sleep with a start, rubbing his left eye with his wrapped hand. It only took him a second or two to analyze the frantic situation, and he immediately jumped to his feet to help his friend. "What the shuck is going on?" He yelled, trying to make weapons out of the few straggling materials left on the floor.
"I got two things for you, slinthead. First, stop trying to use Glader language it makes you look even uglier than you already do," Minho snapped from the other side of the room, throwing useless objects at the Cranks. Thomas opened his mouth to retort, but Minho continued as if he didn't just insult his friend. "Secondly, if it isn't already obvious, we're being attacked by shuck Cranks! So how about you try helping us out instead of standing there?"
Thomas stood from his crouched position on the hard tiled floor and shot the Asian boy a glare. He dutifully stalked past him, ignoring Minho's amused yet curious eyes. He wrapped a hand around the door handle and pulled, noticing the slight give the door gave. "Hey, Newt! Have we tried the door?"
"Have we tried the door? Tommy seriously? Of course we've tried the door!" Newt sassed back at him as Minho literally facepalmed.
Frypan ducked from behind Newt's protective arms and ran over to Thomas. "Sure, we tried pulling on it, but we didn't try breaking it!" With a grin, he pulled a fire extinguisher off the wall and handed it to Minho, who had made his way over to the door. Newt still corralled the remaining Gladers into the far corner, completely away from harm.
"Well, go on tough guy. Break the handle," Thomas said as Frypan handed Minho the dusty red metal.
Minho rolled his eyes at Thomas before raising the fire extinguisher above his head. "Listen here, shuckface. You better shut your trap before I beat the klunk out of you," he threatened, and Thomas threw his hands up, and sarcastic expression on his face to show how scared he was. Then, Minho brought his arms down with an incredible force, and a loud bang echoed through the room. Newt couldn't contain himself any longer, and he ran over so that he could see what was going on. Minho once again brought down the metal with a grunt, and a clang sounded before the handle rattled against the floor.
Thomas wrenched it open, and everyone followed him as he sprinted down the halls of flickering lights.
But what they saw was what they had least expected to see:
Nothing.
