Context and development are important, people.
It's not gonna be like:
Chapter 1: I move to Forks, in the middle of some really green trees, just because. Jasper and I meet, and we immediately love each other. We start dating and go on our first date.
Chapter 2: whOOPS I'm now dating a vampire but I guess I love him so it's okay. A werewolf falls in love with me, but no thank you.
Chapter 3: Some bitch like Aro interferes and gives me to the Witch Twins, but Jasper single-handedly saves me
Chapter 4: I've only known Jasper for three days, but we will love each other forever and we get married.
Chapter 5: Jasper and I are in some serious conflict again and he gets seriously hurt, keeping this fanfic alive for another 3 chapters.
Chapter 6: Wolfie comes back and kidnaps me while Jasper can't move for a while
Chapter 7: I am saVeD and we start a war in the process
Chapter 8: We win and I go on my honeymoon with Jasper
Chapter 9: I am pregananananant and have a baby that is a hybrid, like the child with the long ass name. I almost die and am saved by turning into that thing that can't eat garlic or gets killed by a wooden stake
Chapter 10: We live happily ever after with our child Makaylalliyahelenarianna and the rest of the Olympic coven even though it's only been a week since I met Jasper

This is intentionally meant to develop a semi-realistic relationship between the main character and Jasper.
I'm just frustrated by the amount of people that stop reading after Chapter 1 not because it doesn't suit them, but because Jasper isn't in it.
That's mostly it really.
The fanfic doesn't progress quickly because sometimes, the smallest details are the most essential.
If this was paced so that Jasper and the main character were together by Chapter 10, those details would be lost in the process, and I really want to avoid that.
It's my decision as a fanfic writer to keep the timeline as specific and descriptive as possible.
