Loki ran his fingers up and down his legs, water trembling in his eyes. He bit his lip as Thor stepped into his cell. His cell. He was in prison now. He looked up, broken a year dripping down his face. His stomach churning.
Thor calmly locked the door behind him and Loki could see Frigga standing behind him and his gut sank as the door clicked shut.
"What have I done." It was a statement, but still a question. Everything bare. He felt naked in front of his brother. Naked to the firey gaze of judgement.
"Loki," the time mocked and for once in his life Loki gave his soul over to wanting to be good. It felt so naked but he wanted it with all his heart for once. To be the good child.
"What?" he gasped, rising. "What? I-I did what that you throw me here in this cell like a-"
"Criminal?"
Loki stared broken fear in his brothers eyes that only judged in return. "Wha-"
"Don't play innocent Loki. You conferred with our enemies..."
"My father..." I gasped. Surely Thor would see. That Laufey was more than an enemy. The frost Giants were Loki's brothers.
"Laufey is dead!"
"But they're still my brothers! I did nothing Thor. Please believe me. I swear. I sat on that bench and did nothing. I didn't help the frost giants..."
"You didn't help us either."
"I did nothing. Is that a crime now?"
"When it defies Oden yes."
"Oden is not my father, he's not my king and he's not my God. I can't be asked to help slay my brothers Thor..."
"Once you could."
"You think I don't remember..." He clutched the bench bellow him. "You think I don't remember the brothers I slaughtered in cold blood? When I didn't know...because you lied to-"
"You killed evil men. Monsters."
"I'm ONE OF THEM!"
"You are NOT!"
"YES I AM!" My face is bulging with rage but I don't care. "You want to pretend I'm one of your perfect pristine Asguardians? Go ahead! You think I don't want it to be? You think I didn't sit through hours of father saying how superior Asguardians were to Frostgiants. You think I don't want to be you!? ID DO ANYTHING TO BE YOU! But I'm not! I can't change that!"
"Oden is your God Loki."
"I can't believe that... Thor. I swear I wish I could. I wish I could go back to bowing and serving and-"
"You can Loki! Oden is your God."
"He's not Thor I can't just-"
"Loki how could you betray all of us?!"
"I don't want to Thor- I-"
"Oden IS your God-"
"I can't-"
"Just say it!"
"I CANT! Don't you understand you thick headed idiot! I want to! I want to! I CANT! I CANT! I CANT! I CANT! I CANT! I CANT! I CAAAANT!" Loki dropped to his knees and dropped his head down onto them and wept.
Thor stared at Loki sobbing on the floor. "I don't know how you can turn your back on us brother. I really don't. But our father's lying nearly dead, because of you. You're dead to me." With that he slammed the door leaving Loki sobbing on the floor.
Frigga watched him for a minute but he didn't move from his position so she quietly turned and walked away.
