Jimin's POV

Waking up to the loud sound of his alarm clock playing 'sugar, we're goin' down' by Panic!, Jimin looked around and rubbed his eyes sleepily. 'Another day, another do' he thought to himself. He started his monotonous daily routine. The bathroom, the shower, the kitchen (the cereal and milk), the closet and then the door, the road and finally the college building. He was used to this sameness, he didn't hate it. He was just used to it. He had had a good life up till now. He was born into a happy family, sometimes loving. He had his best friend, Taehyung with him since preschool (contributing to the sameness). He had his education. Usual.
The only thing he could think of that really excited him and made him feel something, was his dance. He and Tae went to a liberal arts college in Seoul and he studied dance while Tae studied economics. This was one of the only colleges that offered both these things and it was perfect for the pair of them.
Jimin's parents were not very encouraging of his dream to dance. He tried to convince them that he wouldn't only be studying dance. That he would do different classes and learn many things. But they wanted him to choose the safer option. They wanted him to be cautious and fall into the sameness of society. He decided to defy them, even though it took a lot of courage to do so. He decided that his life had been mundane enough and that he deserved a break from normalcy. He and Tae got an apartment together. His parents still paid for it, but both of them had part time jobs to help themselves. He worked in a small library surrounded by old books. He loved it there. He could just absorb the quiet around him and he really felt attached to those old books. He loved to smell them. He even became good friends with the owner, a frail yet strong grandmother. Tae on the other hand, worked at a cafe.
The cafe was very close to the library which was in turn close to their college. After college every weekday the pair would walk towards their respective workplaces and then meet up as their shifts ended and walk back together. This happened everyday.
The two of them finished their classes and met up at the gates of their college.
"Hey Tae! Do you want to go to the cafe first and get something to eat before splitting? I'm starved." Jimin initiated.
"You read my mind, bestie" Tae replied.
After entering the cafe they placed their orders and took a table. Their shift didn't start for another half hour. Jimin got an iced Americano and a chocolate chip cookie while Tae got a hot coffee and a tuna sandwich.
"How were your classes today, Chim? I myself had a good day. I spoke to Hoseok hyung so much and I think he might even have flirted with me a little. Omg. It was so exciting. Can you believe it. After our maths class that we have together he stayed behind and spoke to me for so long. Almost ten whole minutes and it was wonderful!" Tae exclaimed, bubbling with excitement.
"Gee Tae, you must have been blushing intensely." Jimin knew about his best friends long time crush on their classmate, Jung Hoseok. "My day was good only, same old. Nothing special I guess. But we worked out so hard during our dance class. Conditioning he called. Torture is what it really is. Anyway. I'm almost done. I think I should get going. It's going to get late."
"Do you really have to leave? It's boring here in this cafe. Barely anyone comes." Tae pouted, hoping his aegyo would convince his friend to skip work for one day.
"I'm so sorry Tae, but I was actually going to tell you that my boss has asked me to stay back later today and I don't have a choice. She needs help with the inventory."
"What?! You're staying later? Who's going to watch Game of Thrones now? Who will cry with me and laugh with me as we watch the imagination of that fabulous author come to life in series of nudity and violence? Huh? Who?"
"Don't be so dramatic Tae, it's only two extra hours. And you can't watch it without me anyway. Who's hand will you hold? I'll be back soon. See you"

Work passed by quickly and Jimin barely realised as time flew.
He started walking back towards his apartment, pound music blasting in his ears.
"Baby got her head down, looking for a stranger tonight..."
Bad habit by the Kooks making him feel like he was in a music video when a person bumped into him. He immediately looked up and gave the black haired stranger a kind smile. The stranger barely looked up at him and quickly mumbled a small "I'm sorry" before walking away. Not waiting to hear what Jimin had to say next
"But you've dropped your wallet..."
