Armin stared at the text with a dejected look. Unhappily, he hugged his knees while staring at his phone screen. "He's not coming." He told the brunette beside him with a frown.

Hanji blinked and looked up from her book. "Oh, that sucks." She chose her words carefully at the sight of Armin's distraught look, watching the golden tail of her friend swish anxiously. "D-Don't worry, he's probably just worried about Eren."

The young blonde's tail bristled for a split second as he brought his knees closer to himself. "Why? It's not like him to not keep his word." Levi didn't promise him anything, but said enough to keep him hoping. "He said he'll hang out with us soon."

With her tail coiling nervously, Hanji battled mentally for the right words to say. She was not stupid, she knows why. Despite knowing it for so long she did try to swerve Levi in the right direction, it was wrong for Levi to choose Eren, she knew that. Hanji was also aware that Armin knew more than he let on.

He was in denial.

"W-Well I don't really know what's up but I bet Levi's just worried about Eren's stress level.." Hanji mumbled while placing a hand on her distressed friend. "It'll be okay, come on cheer up. We can answer our career sheets ourselves. Come on let's start!"

"Okay."

"—Alice's sister wakes her up from a dream, brushing what turns out to be leaves and not a shower of playing cards, from Alice's face. Alice leaves her sister on the bank to imagine all the curious happenings for herself.. That concludes to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Eren closed the old worn book, the front page had the illustration of that of a girl protruding the ears of a black rabbit, contrasting to her blond locks as she wore an elegant short dress with frilled trimmings, in her hands were roses that flittered petals on where she stood and stray ones cascading downward.

It's been a while since they've done this, a picnic; the last time was when Levi was right about half his current height. The only difference was their flipped positions from the past. They were perched on the backyard and sprawled on the picnic mat, or rather Eren sprawled on the mat with Levi sitting.

Eren's head was cradled in his lap while the raven gently threaded his fingers into the soft brown locks, the sun's heat was filtered into a dull warmth through the clouds. Levi sighed in pure contentment while he gently felt and heard the light purring radiating from the cat on his lap. "My turn to read?"
