Adeela woke to the sounds of loud sirens.  At first she sprung out of bed, disoriented and scared, not quite knowing what was happening.  Then she heard the distinct high pitched ringing that was a characteristic of the infamous siren stating that the Disease was nearby.

There was no cure or prevention of the Disease and it had whipped out most of the population of mainland Earth.  Sure the cities above were safe, but the for the people who could not afford to live in such a beautiful place, they were left to die.  Unfortunately, no one cared.

Without a thought Adeela ran to the rooms of her sister and parents to see if they could evacuate the compound, the only failsafe way to not become infected with the Disease.  As she began to dart towards the door her head pulsed, she full to the ground in pain, cutting her wrist right above her tattoo as she fell.

"Mother," she groaned in agony for help, rubbing her head with her bloody wrist.  Cat-like eyes flashed in front of her's then disappeared.

"Help," she cried again, but there was so response.  The siren was still blaring at full volume.

Objects around Adeela began to hover, but they soon crashed to the floor, their sound drowned up by the city's screech.  Eventually Adeela dragged herself out of her room to find blood all over the floor and her parent's bodies empty of fluid.  They had made their way towards her room in an effort to die together, sadly they never made it.

The sight of her parents' bodies brought Adeela to heartbreaking tears, and with these tears the whole house began to shake.  She grabbed the limp, tattooed wrists of her parents and placed their hands on hers.  It was at that moment Adeela knew she was going to die just like her parents.

"Hanan," Adeela whispered to beckon for her sister, "if we are going to die we should at least die together, right?"  Adeela's voice broke with sorrow, but there was no response.

"Hanan?," Adeela asked again.  She dropped the hands of her parents to run to her sister, her best friend, to maybe see her one last time.  Adeela opened the door Hanan's room, expecting, in the darkest part of her crushed heart, to see her sister's body.  However, instead of seeing a bloodless-corpse like her parents, Adeela did not see her sister only a monster.

Hanan had not died peacefully, if having all your blood drained from you is considered peaceful, no she had become a mindless creature with no sense of anything: an Insane.

Adeela began to walk backwards, scared and dizzy, not being able to think over the constant ringing and her head killing her.  Hanan attacked her sister, her strength unmatched by the frail and unfocused Adeela.  Her hands wrapped around her sister's neck, but Adeela cried out in vain for someone to help her, though of course even if someone heard her, they wouldn't care about a Filthy Muslim like her.

Adeela yelled at the top of her lungs, her head splitting because of it.  A bolt of some kind of energy flew from the forehead of the small girl, knocking her sister through the wall, almost making the house topple down.

Adeela began to shake again.

What did I just do?  I-I'm not going to die, am I?  She cried to herself.  Hanan sprang back up and charged at her sister, Adeela, without much control, thrust her hands towards what used to be her beloved sibling.  Over the splitting headache, the screeching sirens, and the trauma, it was difficult to take anything in.  All that Adeel knew is that every object in the house flew from the walls and shelves and penetrated her long dead sister, taking the Insane out.

Adeela ran into the streets for some help, perhaps she was not alone, but all that she was greeted with was corpses of friends and the Insane.  The mindless beasts stared at her, their mouths dripping blood, without hesitation or warning, the small yet powerful number of Insane sprinted towards the girl.  Adeela tried to do something to fend off the monster's advances, but nothing seemed to work.

"Why am I not dead!" She yelled into the black sky, tears streaming down her face.  The Insane advanced and Adeela feared for her life.  Right before the hoard could lay a hand on her, however, Adeela's head let out a pulse.  She was incased in a sort of materialized, translucent shell that separated her from the monsters, however, about as soon as she realized what happened the forcefield dissolved into oblivion.

Adeela then let out an ear shattering cry louder than the sirens, a blast was shot from her head and into the crowd.  The Insane all disintegrated at the powerful touch of the psychic blast.

Adeela dropped to her her knees in all the ash trying to take in everything that just happened.  After a single moment of silence her eyes widened and through her brain shot a horrible vision, one that changed her life forever.
