"Listen Lola, I can't just pack up and leave like that. All my friends are here, I've lived here for years and also I have a great job here."
I sighed and tried to keep my voice confident so he didn't know I was giving up hope "We can make a new life, new friends.. and I told you after my father passed away I have money that I don't even know what to do with, you will have plenty of time to find a new job. Please.." I begged "Just come with me."
I heard him tapping his pencil while he let out a sigh into the phone. "I don't know .."
I almost felt pathetic; I was so desperate for him to come back with me. I loved him more than anything and even though I already essentially accepted the fact he wouldn't leave with me, I had to try " Tony.. I'm leaving tomorrow.. I bought you a ticket too just in case. Make up your mind.. if you're gonna come then meet me at the spot, you know the one."
He replied slowly "Yes Lola, I know the one.."
"My flight is at 3:45... Meet me there 12:00 if you're gonna come.."

I'd just finished packing and I sighed as I crawled in bed. I could help but think over the last three amazing weeks. Last night in particular, Tony and I were next to each other, our feet in the sand. He said "You know from the moment I saw you on that stage, with those yellow feathers in your hair and that short dress that showed off your beautiful legs.. I just knew I had to have you. It was more than just lust, I could feel something.. Something I can't quite describe, but I just felt.. so alive"
I looked over at him and ran my fingers through his black hair." You still make my heart jolt." I pecked his lips and looked up at the stars you could see over the ocean that weren't drown out from the light pollution of the clubs and resorts behind us.
As we saw one shoot past he said softly "You should make a wish." Of course I laughed at the childish thought.
"A wish?" I said laughing as he nodded, "Don't you think that's a bit silly? I mean it's not like it would come true."
Entertained he played back "Oh no.. Every man gets his wish, now go on and wish quickly before your time runs out."
I closed my eyes and the only thing I wished most is that he would come with me back from Rio to New York. I wished over and over again and it was the one thing I wished as I fell asleep in my large suite's luxurious bed.

11:27 am I quickly swiped all of the drinks into my purse from the mini fridge. With all my luggage on my cart I left my room and headed down to the front desk to check out of Copacabana Palace.
"Did you have a nice stay, Miss Colt?" The desk clerk asked in a seemingly genuine way.
"Yes, thank you." I set down my key and turned to leave. "Charge it all to my card please, you have all the info." I waited at the valet area as they retrieved my rental Cadillac. He helped me load my things into my car and I thanked him and tipped him the proper amount.
I drove out of the parking lot and it only took a few minutes to arrive at the beach. I got out of my car grabbing my purse and made my way to the small secluded area where tony and I had spent a few to many partially drunken nights together. Then I just sat waiting, I reached in my purse to grab one of the miniature Jack Daniels from the suite's fridge and drank it, letting the tingling warmth from it surround my body. I knew he wasn't going to come.
It was now twelve fifteen. The sun was almost to the center of the sky and I pulled out some sunscreen from my purse to put on my arms. It was his. Tony's Hawaiian Tropic sun lotion. I let the smell take me back to all of the moments we had shared as I began to rub the cool lotion in. Tears began to prick at my eyes and I knew it was time to go.
I got up to walked away quickly. I reached into my purse and ripped up the ticket I had for him. I just wanted to forget about him. I shook my head as his words repeated in my mind 'Every man gets his wish...' and I knew he lied.

Tony's P.O.V.
I hurried out of my corvette towards the small spot on the beach where we spent so much time together. I had been so conflicted as whether or not to go with her, and I finally decided I had to. She made me feel like a whole new person. I knew I loved her more than anyone or anything. I knew I couldn't let her get away. But my heart sunk as I approached the log of driftwood we used as a bench. Upon it sat one thing telling me she had been here. Telling me she had left me behind. My Hawaiian Tropic lotion.
