Alex's POV
I took a quick shower, anxious to go and get some new clothes. When I was going to put on my previous clothes, I heard Harry speaking to Zayn.
"Even when I'm trying to be nice, I'm screwing up." He told Zayn, very obviously crying. I knew he was talking about me and what had happened, but he needs to understand that the past is the past and he needs to get over it.
I get dressed and apply my make up like earlier; extra thick and dark, adding the cat-eye. When I go into the living room, Zayn is gone and Harry is sitting on the couch.
"Ready?" I ask him, causing him to jump. He wipes his eyes and tries to pretend that he wasn't crying, when he very much was.
"Allergies." He tells me and it's obviously unconvincing.
We make our way to the rental car that Harry had dropped off to the hotel and we head to the nearest shopping mall. The ride is quiet and there's a tense feeling in the air.
"Look Harry, the past is the past. We can't change what happened and we can't keep letting it hold us back. Quit beating yourself up for what happened, it wasn't your fault and you can't change it if it was." I tell him. He keeps silent, ignoring me. I don't know why I'm being so rude about it but this needs to end now.
"I'm sick of the negativity and the negative feelings. Even if it was your fault, so what? You got me out didn't you?" I tell him. I want him to answer me so this can all be behind us.
"I guess you're right but I don't know what happened to you. It must have been bad; your nightmares are horrid." He answers quietly.
"It doesn't matter what happened, Harry. It's over and done with. Can we just try to be positive from now on? Please?" I beg him. I know this isn't going to just go away, but I know that I have to try. The more I think about it the more I want to kill my father.
The rest of the ride to the mall is silent. The tense air has vanished and Harry seems a lot calmer. When we get there, we climb out of the car immediately, obviously wanted to get out of the small space we are forced to sit in together.
We head inside and both go different ways inside the stores. I pick out a few shredded jeans, studded shorts, and leather jackets. I'm excited for my new look. It fits my new personality a lot better. I pick out a few pairs of shoes, mainly combat boots. I used to think these things were horrid, but I've really grown to think they're gorgeous.
When Harry and I meet up at the check out, I can tell he is confused about my choice of clothing once he looks at them with a puzzled face.
"I'm going to shop around a little more. Since you're done here, take this money and go somewhere else." He tells me, handing me about $300. I take my bags and the money and start walking around the mall.
I feel excited once I spot a hair salon, the perfect place to dye my hair. I walk in and the smell is amazing. It's fresh and smells of shampoo.
"Hey, what can I do for you today?" A petite lady asks me.
"I would like to get my hair dyed." I answer. I'm really doing this. This is exciting.
"Alright come take a seat. What color do you have in mind?" She asks me. I think for a moment before finally deciding on the perfect color.
"Can you do red? Not like ginger red but like red. Blood red." I ask her. She thinks for a moment before smiling.
"We just got a new shipment in so you're in luck! Since your hair is already very blond, we won't have to bleach it." She tells me smiling.
"Great!" I tell her before following her over to a chair and getting my hair ready.
Harry's POV
I've been walking around the mall for about fifteen minutes and I can't find Alex anywhere. It's starting to make me worried considering what she's been through. She could have run off and with her looks, someone could have snatched her up.
I continue walking before smashing completely into someone.
"Oh shit, I'm sorr--Alex?" I say, looking up to see surely Alex's face. It had to be her right?
"Hey Harry, what do you think?" She says showing off her hair. Am I dreaming or is that a nose piercing?
"Alex, what did you do?" I ask her, still obviously confused.
"I got a little make over. I think it fits me a lot better honestly. I got my nose pierced too!" She exclaimed, showing off her nose ring. I'm not dreaming. This is really happening.
"Yeah, we should leave now before you end up getting a fucking tattoo." I tell her and she starts laughing. She didn't did she?
"I made an appointment for one tomorrow! You have to come with me!" She exclaims some more. What the hell is wrong with her? Where's the Alex with girly dresses and heels? This definitely is not her.
"No, hell no. Alex you can't do that! This is just a phase and if you get a tattoo you're going to regret it for the rest of you life!" I tell her. I can't let her go through with this.
"No I won't Harry! You can either come with me or not but you can't stop me from getting it." She tells me hoping into the car.
"I bet I could." I tell her with a smirk, being flirty.
"We'll see about that." She says, being more flirty than I am.
I might like this new Alex.
