*Prologue*
It's been four years since we first met and two incredible years since we started dating. I still remember the the very day I laid my eyes on her on the 4th day of September in grade nine. She was the new student and because of it she was late to our technology class. A classroom full of guys staring at her in amazement was the hello she got. My green eyes widened as I saw her shimmering face. I watched her movements as she walked to the seat next to mine and sat down. Of course she didn't know about it then.
A few weeks passed and we officially met on a two day field trip to Webber Lake camp. The place I will always cherish. I was happy when I noticed she was in my group. I knew this was my chance to meet her, really get to know her and soon have her fall in love with me as deep as I already was . . . I hoped. She was way out of my league and I knew it but that didn't stop me from liking her.
I was that one kid you'd never really expect to date someone. But I did. Two times before in grade 8 - young, I know. Reruns I had so badly hoped would never happen again.
That night I fell, hard, in love with the girl I barely knew. She means everything to me now. I love her. And to my surprise, she loves me back. I'm still wondering as to how I got her but even though I might not ever know I look up at every midnight sky and thank God for her.
She's made me laugh and has made me smile like I never have before. And whenever I'm near her, my heart beats a mile a minute. She loves superheroes and sometimes says I'm her favourite; she also likes rock music and loves famous guys that I don't have a single clue as to who they are or what fascinates her about them.
Eventually high school came along and we began to date, grade eleven. She loves everything I love and that includes my favourite hockey team - the Emberton Winterwolves. I took her to the game that the Winterwolves took home the Everest Cup. It was an incredible win. That was where we had our first kiss. It wasn't what either of us had planned but it was still spectacular.
It was the year I knew I had to ask her. I had to ask the ultimate question. I'm going to ask her to marry me. I know you're thinking we're too young, we're still in high school, not even classified as an adult. Well you see, I'm going to take her behind our school building and get down on one knee. I'm going to pull out a black velvet box and open it to her. Inside will be a plain but graceful silver band with an infinity symbol and I'll place it on her ring finger and say to her:
Well, you'll have to keep reading to know.
