It's about 10 o'clock. I strip off my clothes and fold them neatly on the tent floor. I grabbed a long tee shirt that went down to my knees, and stuck my head through it. I got this from Lori.
'These people are so nice...that's hard to find...maybe I can stay awhile', I thought to myself.
I slowly climb into my sleeping bag, my limbs already getting stiff. I sighed with relief as I allowed my muscles to relax and I snuggled into my bag.
-3 Hours Later-
My eyes snapped open. I was on my side, my hands under my head like a pillow. I was sleeping peacefully before- SNAP!
I inhaled sharply. Someone was outside, circling my tent. I could now see their shadow, barley noticeable in the darkness. I saw then circling back to the front of the tent, to the zipper. I held my breath, my mind and heart racing. The zipper slowly started to unzip.
Wait.
Walkers couldn't do that, could they? I quietly took ahold of my hunting knife I keep by my side, and hid it in my bag. I laid perfectly still as the thing crept in. It made its way over to me, and placed a hand on my shoulder. I flew into action, whipping my knife out, then a firm arm stopping me. I looked in horror at Shane as he cupped a hand over my mouth and pushed me onto the ground. I tried to scream, but my muffled cries wouldn't do me any good. No one could hear me unless they were outside.
Shane smiled." Time you and me have some alone time now, huh?", he breathed into my face.
I again tried to scream, but no help came. I was trapped.
Hot tears welled in my eyes.
Switch his free hand, Shane unzipped the sleeping bag. He pulled up my shirt so high it almost showed my breasts. I cried out.
"Shh shh shh...", Shane whispered in my ear. Hep is hand slowly crept down my underwear.
'One last thing to try' I thought. I licked Shane's hand. He fell back, wiping his hands in his pants in disgust. I screamed out.
I didn't have a second before Shane tackled me again.
"We can do this the easy way, or if you prefer the hard way..?", he hissed.
I stopped struggling. Shane looked at me, then shrugged. He must not hear the soft footsteps making their way to the tent.
I made one last, pity cry that signaled I was in trouble. I fell silent.
Shane smiled once again.
"Good. I like it when-"
A large person crashed into the tent, arms pinning Shane face first on the ground. Shane let out a muffled shriek as the figure threw him out of the tent. It went after him.
I peeked out the flap, and I stood there awe struck. The figure was beating Shane senseless, punch after punch after punch, it soon became like a drum to my ears, each strike leaving a pound in my skull.
The figure finally stopped, and pulled Shane by the shirt off the ground.
"Don't you dare touch her", they hissed. They threw Shane on the ground, and he stumbled away into the dark.
The person slowly turned around, and I got a look at the man who just saved me from rape. Daryl.
I realized that I had been holding my breath. I let it go in relief.
"Thank...you", I choked out.
Daryl grunted and nodded.
"Will he come back?..." I said softly.
"No. I beat em' real good. He won't be back."
"But what if he does?", I said, eyes getting hot.
Daryl glanced to where Shane stumbled off to.
"I'll stay here. Make sure that asshole doesn't come back.", he said finally.
I sighed with relief and motioned for him to come inside. He stared at me for a moment, the walked in. I shut the flap behind him.
"I think I'm going to try and sleep.", I said, yawning after I said 'sleep'
Daryl nodded and sat at the front of the tent, farthest from me. I shimmied down int my bag and slowly drifted to sleep, knowing I was safe.
