As Ocean and I rode the train to Magnolia from Hargeon, I kept glancing out the window from time to time just looking at my white-scaled scarf that was rarely seen of me when I didn't wear my usual attire, my custom made Heart Kreuz armor. By the way, the names Isabel. Isabel Dragneel Scarlet and the blue exceed thats currently munching on a mackerel is my partner and my best friend Ocean. I know every type of magic but mostly focus on my Requip and Fire Dragon Slaying magic, two types of magic that two very important people in my life use. My brother, Natsu Dragneel, and I were trained the the fire dragon Igneel who also raised us but on July 7 of the year X777, he left me and Natsu alone each of us with a white-scaled scarf. As time passed Natsu and I were separated due to a cult that worshiped Zeref attacking Rosemary Village and the people known as the Child Snatchers taking the children away and killing off the adults. I told Natsu to run as fast as he could to try to escape and he did, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky and got caught and dragged away but lucky enough for me I had this gut feeling that something like this was going to happen so I wrote a letter to Natsu which I slipped in his scarf telling him to not worry about me, to not look for me in which I would escape and find him, and to keep looking for Igneel without me. I also managed to take my scarf off and tying it to his waist also telling him to leave it in our favorite cave which was near Rosemary Village, or what was left of it. The Child Snatchers shoved us all into wagons and the into some boats along with the rest of the children. During the boat ride they had told us that we would be building the R-System ,also known as the Tower of Heaven, to resurrect Zeref who was a god, but I didn't believe in hime since the only religion I believed in was Christianity. As soon as we got to the island where the R-System was being built they placed cuffs on our wrists with two red lacrimal on each, then they threw us into cells and told us to rest up for which the real work was going to begin. I vowed that when I got out of here I would learn every type of magic in existence so that I could protect everyone.
As time passed it was work day after day in which some people got tortured as punishment for disobeying orders or for very little things like vomiting up your food when you were sick. I managed to make friends with some of the kids there. Their names were Jellal Fernandez, Milliana, Shô, Wally Buchanan, Simon, and a red haired girl named Erza Scarlet because of her hair. Before coming to the Tower of Heaven, I found two rings with two branches wrapping around my finger.

I wanted to give the other ring to a person who not only was my best friend. I would be someone who I thought of as a sister and that would protect me and always be there for me when ever I needed and Erza did just that, so I gave her the other ring and we promised that we would always stay friends, family, and always be there for each other as well as protecting each other.
At one point when when we were trying to make our escape, the guards caught us. they asked us who did it. I was about to say it was me but Erza was the one who said it. As they were taking her away I shouted, "It wasn't just her, it was me as well!". With that they showed no mercy and took us both to a room and tortured us for what seemed like a eternity. what we didn't see coming was that they took both Erza's and my right eye out. Suddenly my vision became foggy and eventually I blacked out.
