I really wanted to talk to someone about this, but I couldn't. My coworkers, would think he gives me special privileges, which he doesn't.
I was looking over a bill he was supposed to sign, when Amani came in. She's our secretary and receptionist. She loves to gossip, and I love getting the tea from her.
"How come you didn't eat dinner with us the other night ? Your girl Alexa was there. Do you think Roman will marry her?" Amani asked.
"I'm sure he would. He loves her." I admitted, but I'm not really sure if that's true. Roman hasn't really loved anyone since his wife.
"I mean he has to get married, because he can't continue to be having different girlfriends. I mean Alexa is probably his fourth girlfriend, but his first public one."
"Yeah, because of who her dad is."
"That's true. But, you and Congressman Ali. He's single and never been married. I heard he has the hots for you."
Mustafa is fine as hell but there would be an issue with Roman. He wouldn't accept it. But, I can't base my life of what he wants. I still couldn't get over we almost had sex in the wine cellar. "Girl, I don't know. Dating a politician is tricky."
"But Ali is so laid back and he always ask about you." Amani gleamed.
"Nah. I mean if he asks me on a date I'll go but.." I hesitated.
"But what? You're afraid your boss is gonna be mad?"
"Huh?" I tried to play dumb.
Roman called Amani into his office. "Shoot I gotta go. We will catch up later."
I waved goodbye to my work bestie. Why would she think Roman would get mad? Did she just read my mind.
Roman's POV Later that evening...
I sat in a meeting with the budget committee as they ran the numbers and I couldn't help but notice that Naomi was deep in thought. We need to talk about the wine cellar, but she would obviously deny any feelings.
I looked up at her and smiled. She didn't give me a smile back.
I sent her text...
Me: Why do you play so hard to get ?
Naomi: 🙄🙄🙄
Me: What does that mean ?
Naomi: Why aren't we focused on the meeting ?
Me: I can't stop staring at you. You're so beautiful
Naomi: Stop.. You're leading me on
Me: I don't believe so.. What will have for each other is very real..
Naomi: You're naive... You know you love Alexa
Me: If I did I wouldn't be chasing the most powerful woman in Florida. I need you tonight..
Naomi: I can't..
Me: I'm requesting your presence for work, so you will be here 😝
Naomi: Okay..
Me: You won't regret it boo
I watched Naomi carefully each time she responded to my text. She loves it.
"Look like we have a good budget for the last year Governor. Everything is approved." The leader of the budget committee said.
"Great! Thank you all for your time. Everybody have a great evening." I said and everyone started to leave including Naomi.
"Naomi I need you to stay. We have to debrief. " I smiled. "I have another meeting .. Sorry!" Naomi smirked and flipped her hair over her shoulder.

A/N: quick update I changed Congressman Seth to Mustafa Ali, didn't want this to turn into another shield story!
Is Naomi gonna stop playing and give it up to Roman or is she gonna give Mustafa a chance ?
