Chapter One- Hogwarts express

As the new day approaches Amber Heartstring explores the land of sleep. Drifting through the best of dreams and sitting on clouds.

Suddenly, she is awoken by the sound of a 13 year old boy, her brother, Peter.
"Wake up Amber!" Peter exclaimed, "It's September first, it's Hogwarts today!"
Amber immediately sprung out of bed as soon as she heard the word "Hogwarts".
Until, she got butterflies inside her and realised something. Today she was getting sorted into one of the four amazing houses: Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. It was a very nerve-racking time! She had been told all sorts of tales so didn't know what to expect.
"Come on Amber, get dressed!" Her mum shouted, getting impatient.
"Alright mum"Amber replied all of a sudden. She quickly got dressed into a t-shirt and jeans which was protected by finius hibachi, a spell dad had to cast to make it look "muggle worthy".
Now to go and have some breakfast thought Amber.
Amber rushed down the steep stairs and arrived at her quite small, but just right, kitchen. Her nose filled with the smell of eggs and bacon, her favourite.
Once she and her family had finished they all got ready to go to kings cross station. Today was going to be a long day...

Amber and her mum ran into the confusing yet revolutionary portal to platform 9 3/4.
"Wow!" Amber gasped. She was amazed how many people were there and her excitement filled to the brim, like it was going to over flow!
They continued to walk down the platform and soon realised it was time to go.
"Bye mum, bye dad" Amber said as she hugged her parents lovingly.
"See you at Christmas munchkin" Her dad replied, laughing.
Amber boarded the Hogwarts express and looked around for places to sit. She came across a carriage with two children about her age sitting there taking.
" Hey, can I sit here?" Amber asked shyly, hoping for a yes.
"Sure" replied the boy. The two children looked quite alike as they both had ginger hair but the girl had bright green eyes where as the boy had a dark hazel.
"So what's your name?" The girl asked curiously.
"Amber Heartstring, what are yours?" Amber followed.
"Nice to meet you Amber," The girl replied,"I'm Lily Potter and this is my cousin Hugo Weasley."
"I thought you looked a bit alike!" Amber giggled. The three got to know each other quite a bit and share their sweets and treats all the journey. Little did Amber know that she just met her two best friends....

Amber, Hugo and Lily all strode into the great hall as if their life depended on it. They noticed their siblings on the gryffindor table but carry on walking, ignoring what they saw.
They came across a hat and a stool, they had heard tales of how it happened but had never actually seen it for themselves.
"Right first, Tina Abbott" The professor announced in a Scottish accent. Tina stumbled up and put the sorting hat in her head as it shouted...
"RAVENCLAW!"
Ambers eyes drifted off to one of the older gryffindor boys, who was about a year older than her.He had brunette hair with a sort of quiff. His eyes where a dark brown like hers...She realised what she was doing and blushed...
Suddenly, Amber's name was called out so she rushed over to the stool to get it done quickly. She was very confused and surprised as the hat looked through her head and it made her jump when the sorting hat said...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
Amber ran over to the gryffindor table and proudly smiled around the room and noticed her brother, Peter giving a massive thumbs up in her direction. She was startled when she realised two others were sitting next to her, Lily and Hugo!
"I'm so glad we are in the same house!" Amber exclaimed!
"I know, can't wait to eat now!"
Replied Hugo, sounding just like his dad!

The gryffindor's prefect lead them all the way to their common room. Everyone laughed when the fat lady, our portrait, recognised Lily and Hugo. Their parents saved the wizarding world so they are quite famous!
As we walked into the common room I realised it was just as I had imagined it to be, not how Peter was saying!
Lily and I headed to our dorm which we also shared with, Eve Finnigan and Sophia Chang. It was quite nice and cozy, red and gold everywhere with our uniform carefully laid out for us. What a fun time at school I'm going to have, but for now I need some sleep...
