Chapter Two- First Lessons

As the sun comes up all four of the girls begin to yawn and get ready for the new day ahead. Amber and Lily checked their timetables and headed off to herbology.
"Do you think Hugo will already be there?" Amber asked curiously. They hadn't seen him since last night after the feast.
"Yes he should be."Lily replied.
As they approached the hebology centre they noticed Hugo sitting on a red stool, grinning. They then went and sat down next to him as Professor LongBottom introduced himself but Amber,Lily and Hugo already knew him.
"Right now I want you all to get into partners and choose a mandrake." The professor explained. Amber and Lily obviously went together and Hugo went with Lorcan Scamander, Luna's son.
Amber and Lily chose their mandrake and went over to bench and did a survey on its actions. It looked like a real life vegetable which creeped some of the students out.
They finally finished as class was dismissed, now for flying lessons.

Amber and Lily strode onto the pitch and gave a wave to Madame Hooche, their flying teacher. She was quite small and had short spikey hair.
"Now, everyone next to a broom and say up!"Madame Hooche requested.
Amber went over to the broom and shouted a loud UP! Surprisingly it came straight to to her command. She glanced to her left and saw that Lily's had come up too but Hugo was having problems.
"Hugo are you alright?" Amber asked kindly. He looked up at her and replied.
"It just won't come up!" Hugo exclaimed.
"Don't worry, try to say it as if you mean it." Lily told him. Hugo did as he was told and was glad when it came shooting up like a rocket. They were then told they had to mount their brooms and push off the ground.
  Amber pushed off and looked down at the emerald green grass.
It's weird to be up here not down there, thought Amber.
She carried on going up and flew around as they had been instructed.
"Now come down please everyone!" Madame Hooche instructed.
Lily and Amber started to go but then the professor beckoned then to come over to her. Oh no I can't be in trouble already! What did we do wrong? Thought Amber.
"Sorry miss for whatever we did." The girls chanted.
"Sorry? Whatever are you sorry for?" Madame Hooche exclaimed,"I just wanted to let you know that you should ask professor LongBottom to join the quidditch team. Lily for beater and Amber for chaser."
Lily and Amber couldn't believe their ears! They were good enough for the gryffindor quidditch team?!? They walked off in an excited manner and headed to the teacher's offices.
"Shall we ask him then?" Lily wondered.
"Maybe later." Amber replied. They both headed to their common room to do some homework.

Hugo rushed up to Amber and told her that professor LongBottom said he wanted to see her and Lily! Was this about quidditch? Amber hoped it was, her mum would be furious if they were already in trouble on their first proper day!
"Ok we'll go in about half an hour." Amber told Hugo.
"Ok!"Hugo replied and then he rushed off again!
Lily and Amber walked down to the owlery to update their parents on the latest new and to tell them they were settling in just fine.

Dear Mother and Father,
How are you? I am settling in very well here. I got sorted into gryffindor! Today I had my first day of proper lessons, herbology and flying. Guess what? Madame Hooch said that we should join the quidditch team! How cool is that?!? I also made a friend, Lily potter!
Anyway, I should be going now we need to see professor LongBottom,

Amber gave the letter to her owl, Avalonia and told her to take it home.
Lily and Amber headed off for the professors office but got stopped by a familiar red head. Hugo.
"It's ok we are coming now!" Lily said happily and he dashed off.      They walked into the professor's classroom and saw him reading a book called Fantasic Plants.
"Hello professor. You asked to see us." Amber said.Professor LongBottom looked up and smiled...
