~~~~Russet~~~~
I looked up as Zerrec came through the door. With my refusal to eat more than what would keep me alive, I had grown weak, and Zerrec had let me out of the shackles.
But that wasn't the only reason.
Even now, I could just feel life stirring inside me. Much as I didn't like it, I was-
"Why don't you eat something, Russet?" Zerrec asked, jerking me out of my thoughts.
I looked up at him, then took the lamb leg from him, and turned away.
My mouth watered, and my stomach growled softly.
A full meal, just this once, couldn't hurt, could it? I needed the food.
I glanced behind me. Zerrec was still standing there, waiting.
"Can you go?" I snapped.
Zerrec, unperturbed by my mood, grinned lightly at me.
"Bye, Russet. But I'll be back soon."
Finally, he left. Soon as the door shut, I gulped down the entire leg. I hid the bone under a pile of the food that Zerrec had brought me.
It was all lamb, and each leg had a few bites out of them, just enough for me to live.
Glancing at the door, and estimating that I had about five minutes before Zerrec returned.
I hurriedly ate it, and hid the bone with the other.
Just as I laid down, Zerrec came back.
He sat down, close to me, but not touching me. My back was to him.
"My offer still remains," He told me.
"It's not like I have a choice, is it?" I growled. "I'm stuck here, with you.
Suddenly, the door burst open.
"Zerrec!" A thin, brown wolf with red eyes growled. "What are you doing here?"
Zerrec grinned at the wolf.
"I'm taking care  of this fair maiden,"
I snorted. "Fair maiden my-!"
I was cut off by Zerrec flicking his tail over my mouth. He gave me a warning glance before removing it, leaving me coughing and choking on his fur.
The wolf sighed. "Leave her alone, Zerrec. If you told me correctly, and if she didn't always look like that, she's too weak to do anything but be rude."
"Oh, shut up," I muttered.
The wolf glanced at Zerrec.
"Is she always this unpleasant?" He asked.
"Unpleasant," I grumbled. "Look at yourself."
"Typically," Zerrec grinned.
"I don't know why you had to bring her here," The wolf growled.
"You said we needed to reproduce." Zerrec told him. "I'm doing just that."
The wolf sighed, and rolled his eyes.
"Idiot," He muttered, as he left.
Zerrec slammed his paw against the wall, creating a dent, and a loud smack, making me jump.
"Who was that?" I asked, more confused and startled, than bitter.
Zerrec gave me a tortured look. "That was my brother, Zorio. My murderous brother."
