Chapter2: A blissful weekend.

*THE FOLLOWING DAY*

     On Saturday morning, Lily woke up as the pleasant aroma of the pancakes which her mom; Anne was preparing wafted on the morning breeze. She woke up her lazy friend, and as soon as Hiba opened her eyes, she recognised the smell of the breakfast that was being prepared, stretched on the bed like a lazy koala and stifled her yawn and said:"Is breakfast ready yet?". She waited for seconds but did not get an answer and from the corner of her eyes watched Lily leaving the room saying quietly with a giggle : "Get up and you will know".

The parents, Dan and the two girls sat at the dining table and started eating their scrumptious breakfast. After they had been done eating, Lily and Hiba decided to go to the park and spend sometime there enjoying the gentle winds, and left her parents talking in the backyard garden. Whilst her brother went out with his friends.

The two girls reached the park after a short while, and chose a shady spot and sat together on the grass. Lily has always felt that a kind of peacefulness that overcame her whenever she spent some time in spacious green areas. It brought her a sort of internal calmness that she basically missed during workdays and it purifies both mind and soul adding a flavour to this life. She remained silent for a while, then breathed in and took her book from her bag, found the bookmark and started reading 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Brontë and played Für Elise for Beethoven. Whilst her friend, laid her body on the blanket, closed her eyes and started humming unfathomably, making her own rhythms..

     After around 1o minutes, her phone buzzed and it was a notification of the game. She unlocked her mobile phone and it showed a message from the game 'brainwars' from Ahmed, the same guy who played with her the last night. She didn't want to disrupt her reading. She locked her phone again and continued reading from where she stopped..

"Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am living. You said I killed you, haunt me then. The murdered do haunt their murderers. I believe, I know that ghosts have wandered the earth. Be with me always--take any form--drive me mad. Only do not leave me in this abyss, where I cannot find you! Oh, God! It is unutterable! I cannot live without my life! I cannot live without my ... "

      Hiba interrupted Lily's murmurous lips and huffed saying: "It's getting hotter, isn't it?"

    "Yeah, kind of", said Lily.

" Um, I will get some cold water and ice creams for us, okay?", said Hiba and stood up.

    Lily nodded and said: "Okay, my pumpkin"

It was the end of May, and at noontime, the weather became a bit hotter. She waited for her friend, then glanced at the phone and felt curious to check the message that has been sent to her a few minutes ago. She unlocked her phone and logged into the game and checked his message that said: "It was a good game yesterday, looking forward to playing with you again, Lily :)"

She smiled and typed: "Thank you! You played well too, Ahmed :)"

"What are you smiling at?", said Hiba, licking her ice cream cone and gave Lily hers.

Lily took it and answered: "Um, nothing. The guy whom I played with yesterday, was just saying how the game was.. Shall we go? I have to run some errands for mom before lunch"  

"Alright. Come on", said Hiba
