"t-tony can you c-come over?" i said through the phone, trying not to burst into tears.
my mom had just come and told me that my best friend, hannah baker, took her life.
"i'm on my way." my boyfriend stated, already knowing something was wrong.
within minutes he was there rubbing my back telling me that things would get better.
i eventually ran out of tears and was just wailing.
"she's gone tony! how am i supposed to live without my best friend?!" i cried out.
"any way you can baby girl, and i'll be here the whole time." he squeezed my hand as i continued to cry.
"it's all my fault! if i had been there for her then she wouldn't have done this!" i began to get angry.
"babe, you need to calm down. how were you supposed to know? even if you did know, what could you do to change things?" he asked, looking into my eyes.
"i could've helped her. i could've talked to her. i could've gotten her the help she needed. this is all my fault tony. i killed hannah baker!" i spat angrily.
he had a distant look on his face, like he had something on his mind.
"y/n, i need to tell you something important, but you have to promise not to tell anyone." he said nervously.
"what's going on tony?" i asked suspiciously.
he took a shaky breath.
"i know why hannah killed herself."
