Chapter 26- A Dedicated World

Anton felt like he was inside a nightmare, while his team was fighting Damian and Ross. Damian made his next move. He jumped just a few centimeters in the air, but he was not falling. Anton was the only one not confused from the view. His anger was pushing him, like an injured beast. Damian was levitating in the air. He was moving his hands. Suddenly the ground started to shake and pieces of rock were following Damian's hand. "A Syndicate" was in panic. They were running while the ground was falling down and lava was slowly appearing in the surface. Anton didn't want to move. He stayed in the middle of the chaos, but strangely the land beneath his feet was stable. It looked like Damian didn't want to kill him yet. Anton was trying to look directly in Damian's eyes. The hatred had invaded him. The canals of tears could be seen in his face. Ashley shouted at Anton many times, but he didn't react. While running away, Giuseppe turned his head back and looked at Damian.

"Is this the power of the god?"

Suddenly the land ahead them rose and formed a large wall. None could escape. Immediately, Giuseppe teleported everyone to a safe land far away. Ashley screamed.

"Is everyone ok? Allan, Giuseppe . . . Damn that Anton didn't move . . . Wait, where is John?"

John was inside his dimensional space and Anton was with him. John touched Anton's shoulder.

"Don't worry my friend, we are safe. We will kill him. His gravitational power doesn't work in my space."

But John forgot another fact. When he turned his head back, it was too late. Ross's invisible barrier had disrupted John's space behind him. Ross's chainsaw made a hole in John's right leg and the dimension John created disappeared. Anton didn't realize what happened because he had his eyes on Damian. Suddenly, Anton felt like he was falling. The ground had fallen and he was going the same direction. He saw Ross levitating back in the surface. He realized Damian had saved him. But Anton couldn't find John. Anton could sense the heat more and more. He thought.

"John may be already dead. I need to do something. But what? I have no ability."

Then he remembered what Jason said.

"I am the chosen one."

While remembering that, Anton felt different. His body was lighter than before. He felt like he could reach the surface. He closed his eyes and hoped for a miracle. Anton realized he was staying in the air just like Damian. However, Damian didn't look surprised. The ground was still moving as pieces of land were crushing and fountains of lava could be seen. Anton felt too confident on his abilities. He didn't wait. Instead, he controlled Ross's body and threw his down to the "hell" again. Damian made his move again and expected Ross's body to be back in the surface again. But it was not Ross. Damian had actually moved a giant piece of rock instead of him. Ross was falling down and a few meters separated him from the lava. He shouted one last sentence.

"All terrorist shall die!"

Immediately after he felt a little burn in his back and died.

Anton was also amazed from the scene. He didn't expect Damian to make a mistake. Then he realized that it wasn't a mistake. His team was far away, but he could see Giuseppe waving his hand. Anton looked at Damian again.

"It's between us two now."

Damian made another movement with his arms.

"Yes indeed."

A second later Anton found himself in a dark space.

"Where are you?! Show yourself coward!"

Damian appeared in front of him and the darkness faded away. Anton could now see Damian's lab. Damian didn't look angry. He spoke quietly.

"Do you remember this place?"

Anton's hatred hadn't gone away. He threw a lab monitor at Damian. Damian was able to defend himself. He turned his back on Anton.

"Follow me. I will complete your puzzle, I will tell you, the missing part."

Anton was very angry to concentrate on Damian's words. He threw another object at Damian. Although it was not effective, Anton didn't stop throwing things at him. Damian then turned back and shouted.

"I know everything! I know what Jason told you, I know how they protect you! You can't remember the time after leaving Derek's illusion, do you?"

Anton finally decided to calm down.

"How do you know? Tell me!"

"I will tell you everything if you follow me."

Anton agreed and followed him to another room filled with different containers and a bed. Anton could not understand the meaning of it.
"What is this? I am going to kill you right now!"

"No wait."

Damian opened one of the room monitors. Anton was shocked. He was looking at the same room, but in the bed there was someone sleeping. It was Anton himself. He watched as hours passed at the monitor showing Damian treating him with medicaments while he was sleeping. There were scenes where Damian was sleeping on a chair next to the bed waiting for Anton to wake up. After a few minutes the video in the monitor was ending and Anton saw himself waking up and then Damian taking him away. The video ended there. Anton didn't want to believe the tape.

"You liar! Even if that was true, you are so evil you must have done something with my body. Did you experiment on me?"

"Yes I did. This is the reason why you can understand the fifth dimension just as I do. It's not Jason. It was me who made you like this! And I wanted you to fully regain your abilities. But, I couldn't do it without pain. Pain changes people. It makes them realize who they really are!"

"Bullshit! You killed my mother, you killed my friends!"

"A big amount of pain is required for your abilities to be awaken. You tried to change the fate. I had no other choice . . . I will tell you something else . . . I am the world Anton! I made this world this way. It is the perfect world for you to regain your abilities. It is the perfect plan. I made the conflict! I control the machine! You are my greatest experiment! As a scientist, i can't let you go. Join me Anton."
