Brian was expecting more questions from Greg, but nothing came out of his mouth. He turned his head back to see Marc.

"Hold on boy!"

The doctor then looked at Brian again, but changed the topic.

"My house is here. I think we made it on time."

The car stopped next to a big two-storey house in a quiet area in Princeton. Greg got out of the car rapidly and so did Brian. They helped Jack carrying Marc, who was still unconscious. Greg opened the door quickly and showed the scientists the way to a small operation room in the first floor that he had created in his house. They were in hurry, so they didn't paid too much attention to the expensive furniture and the countless paintings on the wall. The doctor opened the door of the "Operation Room". He could feel his cold sweat, while thinking about his past stories with Marc. His profession's tranquility was slowly fading. He turned quickly to the scientists and showed them the bed.

"Put Marc here and don't move!"

They put him on the bed. Jack checked his breathing while Brian finally noticed the modern technology around him. The room was big enough to fit 2 big locking steel cabinets, two medical computer carts, solid-top tables and countless cleaning supplies and other important lab objects. After this confusing view, Brian realized the importance of Greg's figure. Suddenly, he started to feel jealous and thought about his own useless life. All this time Brian had put so much effort in his experiments and with his profits, he could only think about paying taxes and buying food for his wife and his 3 year old boy. The doctor came back and activated all the devices he needed. He was observing each one of them. His eyes were moving fast, but he was able to process all the information. Brian was looking at him, while thinking about the strange reaction Greg made, after he told him about the shooting.

"Why didn't he tell me something? He changed the topic! He must know something that I don't!"

This thoughts were making Brian feel nervous. The doctor then realized the big problem.

"His brain had lost a big amount of oxygen for such a small time! He is good now, but I can't say that he will be better."

Jack was immediately scared.

"What is it? A strange disease or what?"

"No . . . He has fallen into a coma, but we still have chances."

Brian reacted angry.

"Damn it! If he wasn't so stupid, he wouldn't end like this. That experiment! I told him not to try it!"

Jack sat in a chair and started to think about the future. Greg decided to cheer him up.

"Well, the situation could have gone worse than this."

Brian didn't hesitate to show his anger.

"Do you know how many years have we worked on that experiment? You know nothing about us!"

The doctor didn't speak, Brian continued.

"You don't even care about my wound. You are a doctor for God's sake!"

Greg spoke quietly.

"There is no need to worry about your wound. I see you have treated that already. Also, we had more important things to do."

Jack was still meditating, while Brian's anger was rising.

"No, no! I bet you liked that! You liked when I told you that Marc shot me!"

Greg's face was "covered in sad emotions".

"What are you talking about? Are you just a kid or what?"

He decided to explain the problem.

"I didn't say anything, because that's how Marc acts in those situations."

Brian calmed quickly, because his questions could now be answered. Greg continued.

"Marc would have done the same to me if I was in your place. That experiment was his dream. That's his type, doing everything needed to reach the dream. We have been friends together for such a long time."

Brian let all his thoughts go out.

"Then, why didn't you help him? You are so rich, you have reached everything!"

The doctor appeared as if he was going to say some interesting stories.

. . .

They were both sitting on some concrete blocks. Anton's curiosity was rising, while he was learning a lot of things about that war.

"Every modern technology? How do you communicate with normal people around the world then?"

The soldier looked at him desperately.

"We can't. Every TV channel is closed down. We don't have lot of time to care about this things. We are so busy killing this unknown evil people."

"Sorry, what was your name?"

"I am Ross. Actually I am a commander of this base defense unit. With so many soldiers, we can't know everyone. What's yours?"

Anton felt nervous and confused. He didn't really know the answer and he could not believe what the others said about him.

"I am Anton . . . At least that's what they call me."

"So you are the guy that doesn't know this world!

After all this time, Ross realized the metallic foot.

"Yes, it should be hard for you with this."

At that moment Allan came and he was looking happy.

"Hey, are you feeling better now?"

Then he turned to Ross.

"Hello commander!"

Ross was a little surprised. He pointed at Anton.

"You know this guy?"

"Yes. We are soldiers from the third attack unit sir."

The commander checked his watch and decided to leave.

"Well, you need to tell him more about the hard life here. I have a meeting now. Stay safe soldier."

Ross left and Allan started to tell Anton the most important things about their past lives.
