I ran into the hospital. I knew she wasn't good, but I didn't know she was this bad. I saw the front desk and dashed over to them. I asked where my sister was.
"Where is she?" I demanded.
The old lady in the blue stripped dress looked up from her computer and said, "Who is she?."
"She is my sister. Alex Magner? My twin sister." My throat had a lump in it and it was hard to speak. She looked at me. I peeked at her sign in sheet. My dad was here. He can't be here. Not him. I saw he went into room thirty-two. That's where she must be.
I started to sprint towards where room thirty-two would be. I turned back and looked at the old lady that was at the front desk. She was yelling at me to come back, but I kept running. I'm not stopping now. When I finally reached the door, I opened it very slowly. There was stubs sitting still from under the hospital blanket. I started to slowly walk in, and a man was praying over my sister. It was my dad. I wanted to sit down next to him, but I couldn't. Instead I sat across from him. My sister was laying there, hopefully asleep.
"I'll leave you two alone if you want." My dad said looking at me. I looked at him, I saw my reflection in his glasses. I saw my green puffy eyes, and my scraggly brown hair.
"That would be great, thanks." I said barely being able to breath. I was still out of breath from running. He started to walk out.
"Hey Alex." I said looking into her closed eyes. I could tell she was in a lot of pain. I brushed her hair off of her face. She slowly opened up her eyes.
"Hi Rylee," she managed to say. She looked at me in pain.
"Dad was in here earlier, he just walked out so that we could have time alone." I said. She looked annoyed. I would feel the same way.
"I'm happy he left and you didn't. My twin is better than my dad." She said to me almost tearing up. She sat up.
"I miss mom. I wish she was here." Alex said, she looked extremely pale her freckles were faded now.
Our mom died a couple years ago from Leukemia, and they say Alex is getting it. I don't want to believe them of course. My mom and dad had gotten a divorce several years ago after he cheated on our mom. Me and Alex hate him so much now. I pushed her back down for her to go back to sleep. She closed her eyes.
"I love you." I said. She opened her eyes again.
"To the moon and back." She replied then fell back to sleep.
I slept with Alex for the night. I slept until 12:00m a.m. I decided to go back home. Luckily it was a Sunday so I didn't have work. I work at a local veterinary clinic called "Magner Rescue Pet Clinic". I am the manager, because I'm 21. I went to a veterinary school when I was 18. I have a friend at my job, named Jessie. We've been friends since highschool, we went to the same college. When I got home I saw that I got a text message from her.
It said: I've wanted a Australian Shepard my whole life, even as I was a kid. Me and Alex asked for one, but we never had enough money. It really sucked considering we always had enough money for a cat. I am no person who picks sides so I've always liked cats and dogs. I decided to respond to her. I noticed how much better her grammar is than mine, but she isn't a grammar police so it was okay. I wanted to take a shower and go out for breakfast before I went in to see the Aussie. I also wanted to see my cats and dog. I had 2 cats, one was a Maine Coon with 3 legs named Camille, the other was a white Siamese named April. My dog I had was a purebred Husky named Shasta. She was beautiful, one eye was blue and the other was green. I was really excited to see the new dog, but also excited to see the old ones.
