Dedicated to ClassicImagination (who totally doesn't have to read this story) for inspiring me to write on here!! I love interacting with you in your own stories and I think it's amazing that you take the time to respond to all of my obnoxious comments and even dedicating one of your own chapters to me :) Thanks so much for being so sweet! (psst, you should totally read their stories!!! His Last Hope and her new one Cracked Canvas!!!)
-----"So he just offered to take you to New York?" Sammy asked in utter disbelief. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was hanging open.
She sat crisscrossed on my bed while I sat in my desk chair. Her dad had ungrounded her on 'good behavior' and things were back to the way they had always been.
I was attempting to watch a movie but Sammy wouldn't stop bombarding me with questions ever since I told her about what happened at the smoothie bar.
It was a few days later and I hadn't heard anything from Clyde. He always managed to keep me hanging for days on end, only to show up later and do the exact same thing. It was the second time he had surprised me and then immediately kept his distance.
I shrugged a shoulder and reached over for my Rubix Cube. "It was more of a suggestion." Fiddling with the sides, I allowed Sammy to continue her questioning.
"But you said yes?"
"No."
"So you said no?"
I stared down at my fingers as they went to work with solving. Technically Clyde didn't give me a chance to even answer. He just left.
I'll see you around, Bonnie.
His words echoed in my mind, filling my head with mixed emotions. I was confused and shocked, even a little uneasy. But I also felt compelled and curious. I wanted to see him again.
My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by Sammy, who had chucked a pillow at my face. I let out a grunt and glared at her.
"Did you?" She squealed. When I didn't say anything she threw her hands in the air, loud bracelets clanging along with them.
Sammy has always been very animated. Ever since we were little. She would throw her arms all over the place and roll her head back so far when she laughed that it practically touched her ass. She did a very good job at bringing attention to herself. It was a good thing that she didn't mind it.
She leaned back and laid on my bed. Staring at the little stars I taped on my ceiling, she was quiet for a moment.
"Do you think that he would actually do it?" She finally asked. Her voice was quieter than usual. That meant that she was in deep thought. Or at least deeper than what she was normally in.
I shrugged my shoulders again even though she couldn't see. "I don't know," I admitted. "But I mean, that's crazy, right?" I began, trying to get the hope that was building in my chest to go down. "He has no idea who the hell I even am."
"You also have no idea who the hell he is," Sammy added matter-of-factly.
That was true. I had absolutely no clue. I didn't know his last name, let alone what kind of person he truly was. All I knew was that he confused me. I also knew that because of it, he intrigued me as well.
He was kind and sweet and gentle and even a little socially awkward at times. He was mild and quiet. But he was also confident and determined, as well as cocky and even a bit smug. That part of him was loud.
But there was also this completely foreign side to him. A side that utterly contradicted his kind and nurturing nature. This side was dark and malicious and threatening. It was violent and over consumed with anger. This side to him was strident. But it was also hidden.
It didn't seem directed towards anyone who didn't deserve it though. It was crazy, but I didn't feel threatened by it. Maybe a little unsettled, but for some reason I viewed this side of him as protective.
I wanted to know more about him. I wanted to see what was in that head of his. Sammy was right. I knew nothing.
But I wanted to find out.

Short chapter, I know. Originally it was supposed to be 100x longer but I hit a writer's block so now I'm going to try to fix up the other half of this chapter into a new one.Sorry for the wait but thank you for doing it nonetheless:)
As always, thanks so much for reading!
