I tilted my head to the side as I stared down at the stacks of clothing on my floor. I was going through my things and picking out the essentials. The weather was still warm but a couple pairs of jeans and a few long sleeves wouldn't hurt.

I put what I thought I needed into my book bag. I put the left over clothing back into their rightful draws and set down the bag near my door. I decided to pack light and make it quick.

It was the following morning and I was going through my mental checklist before we left for the road.

Money: check.

Clothes: check.

Map: check.

Toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush: check.

Charger: check.

Stupid stuff that I probably won't even need: check.

I was rattling my brain for anything else I needed until the doorbell rang. My head snapped up and suddenly my stomach was filled with an unnerving feeling. I stared at the ajar door to my bedroom for a moment before walking downstairs.

Once I reached the front door, I took a deep breath and opened it. I was greeted with Clyde's bright smiling face. It eased my nerves almost immediately.

"Hello," he said, still smiling.

"Hi," I returned. "Um, I'm still kind of getting some things together. Do you want to step in?"

"I'm not going to get yelled at, am I?"

"No," I said with a small smile, turning my body to allow him through the threshold. He stepped in, careful not to invade my personal space, and lingered near the coat rack.

I pointed to the stairs. "My room is up here." Clyde followed me as I lead him to my bedroom but paused once he reached the doorframe.

I turned back, noticing his sudden holt. "You okay?"

His uneasy expression was quickly wiped away with a grin. "Yeah," he said slyly. "Just couldn't wait to see some embarrassing middle school photos of you." He walked in and starting roaming around.

"Oh, well," I began, walking over to my bags. "You should see my elementary photos. Those are the truly horrid ones."

Clyde busied himself by looking at my walls while I finished up the last bit of packing. Once I was finished, Clyde looked at me. "We good?" he asked.

I nodded my head. "Let's hit the road," I said with a smile.

oh my god, guys, I am sooooo sorry for not posting anything in over a month!!! And I would also like to truly apologize for uploading this terrible chapter after all this time. I know a few of you have been waiting a long time and I'm really sorry about all that.

I was busy with school, final exams and whatnot, and I didn't really have time to write this story. I was also losing a lot of motivation and inspiration for this. So if you guys have any ideas for further chapters, please feel free to leave them here!! I just might use your idea :) (and give credit of course)

So, it's official; they're finally hitting the road!!! Let's see what happens shall we??

Again, thank you guys so much for reading (and waiting for my lazy ass to pick this up again). I hope I can make it up to you guys :)
