"Mother, Father, I'm home." I say as I enter the house.
Silence.
I sigh. They must've gone out with Will.
Will is my brother, who was adopted to this family, like me. He's the same age as me, but his birthday is a day before mine, so I guess he's the older one.
"Hey Sky." I hear someone say and I jump.
I turn, and see Will standing beside the couch.
"Will," I sigh. "You scared me." he just shrugs and sips his tea.
"So I didn't see you at school today. Did you skip out again?" I ask him. He makes a disgusted face and waves his hand towards me dismissively.
"This is why I stay at home." His gray eyes glint from the afternoon sun through the windows. "So that I can stay away from your nagging for at least six hours a day, sis." He jokes. I chuckle.
Will and I look strangely alike. We had the same eyes, both gray. Same hair color, light brown. We had the same smile. But it was impossible that we were related. We were both from different foster homes. And I also heard that my mother and father only had one daughter, and it was me.
I catch myself staring at Will. I shake m head and smile. "Anyway, I'm going upstairs." I say.
"Wait," Will says, and hands me a small black box.
"What's this?" I ask him, grabbing it out of his hands.
"I actually don't know. I went to check the mailbox just before you came home, and it was by the door outside." Will shrugs.
I open it and gasp, as it was filled with black, white, grey and even silver elastics... That looked like the new boy's! I check my wrist and I was right. The same pattern and shape. The delicate elastics were flat, and not that thick. They basically looked like stretchy ribbons in tied at the ends.
Inside the box was a small paper with a fancy handwriting of a name and a small note.
Your hair looks better down.
But these are my gift.
Harry
Harry. His name must be Harry. His name suited him so well. I realize that I'm smiling like an idiot in front of my brother. Will gives me a funny look.
"What?" I ask him.
"Nothing, you have that same look on your face when you were staring at..." He stops. "Oh, Sky... I'm sorry." He apologizes.
I shake my head. I knew he was talking about my Finn. My ex, and I think about how Harry resembles him perfectly.
"Don't be sorry." I sighed.
"He was a dick." He shakes his head.
I laugh and hug him. He hugs back, holding me tight.
"Don't worry. I'll find you a better guy, yeah?" Will says. I smile and nod.
I pulled away and smiled up at my tall brother. He always had to look down at me, as my head only reached his chest.
I go upstairs, and change into leggings and a black hoodie with the number "98" on it. I looked out my window.
A sudden movement caught my eye, and it was from Harry's house. I saw a silhouette by the window covered by a white curtain. Then the curtains drew, and I see the curly-haired, mysterious boy.
He seems to look straight at me. I smile and wave. He nods, again. Does that boy not know how to wave, or smile? I sigh and put my hand down. He disappears from his window and soon appears in front of his house.
