After getting up the next morning and getting ready for school I started walking to school cause I woke up early and my truck was an hours walk away.

I got about halfway to school when a car pulled up beside me.

"Need a ride,"

It was the boy from school.

After failing to find an excuse not to accept his offer I gave in and crawled into the passenger seat of his car.

"I'm Riley by the way, Riley Williams."

"Emilia, Emilia Ellsworth," I smiled

He was kinda cute.

After 15 minutes of awkward silence and the odd question here and there we pulled up to the school. Everyone was staring at us as we got out of his car and walked to school.

In class I ended up sitting by Riley because every other seat was taken and it seemed as though nobody wanted to sit by him. But I didn't mind.

Taylor walked in late and went to the teachers desk to ask Miss. Dawson something.

"Miss. Evans has a word to say to the class before we start today's lesson." She said gesturing to Taylor.

Taylor strutted to the front of the class papers in hand. After 5 minutes off sucking up she finally cut to the chase.

"I don't think it's fair that a satanist," she said giving Riley a devilish glare. "Should be in the same class as us christian kids." She finished as her "clan" nodded and cheered.

"So I have a petition from the church approved by my mama, to have Riley Walker expelled." She finished evilly.

"It's Williams!" I stood up in protest. "His name is Riley Williams and he has done absolutely nothing wrong so you can take your damn petition and shove it up your ass, you evil little twat!" I spat.

The day went by as usual though Taylor seemed pretty scared and gave me half frightened, half pissed glances and I returned them with a devilish glare.

When the bell rang I was the first out the door.

"Emilia Wait!" Riley yelled grabbing my arm.

I grabbed his hand and ran out of the school dragging him to his car and getting in.

"I'm sorry," I said "I kinda just snapped, I'm sorry if I embarras-- "

"Thanks for standing up for me..." He cut me off.

"Well you're my friend and I don't like it when people judge somebody that they don't even know!" I grunted .

He smiled at me and started the car. He drove me down the road were my car was. It still wouldn't start.

"I wanna show you something," he said pulling up the hood of my truck.

He held his hand out and waved it and twisted his fingers and in seconds the engine of the truck chugged and roared back to life.

I looked at him in disbelief and said he'd explain later and told me to follow him in his car.

I followed him down the winding dirt road and soon came face to face with a metal fence covered in vines protecting a even more vine covered house.

With another twist of his hand the gate opened and we drove up the stone driveway.
