I DON'T EVEN KNOW OK I WROTE THIS IN THE SPAN OF LIKE 3 OR 4 HOURS I COULDN'T HELP IT. I got an idea while reading fanfics and I just had the biggest urge to write. I was literally giggling and typing so freaking fast and saying "YESYESYESOMGYESHOLYFUCK". I know I said I wouldn't be writing but Jesus I'm actually kinda proud of this thing.
Don't own yugioh blah blah blah. Sorry for the misspellings. I'm tired.

There once was a prince. Young and beautiful was he, with golden locks of hair that framed his cherubic and angelic face and a deep maroon that blended into the finest shade of violet pointed upward into an almost flame-like hair style. Gentle was his touch and soft was his pale porcelain skin, which was fabled to have been blessed by the gods from the day he was born. When he smiled, it was said it would stretch across his face and brighten a room, making even the saddest of his people happy.

But the boy's physical attributes were only part of his overall beauty. They say his heart was made of literal gold and was the size of the sun. He was kind, loyal to his friends and family but never standing down in the face of cruelty or evil. An overwhelming willingness to help anyone in need and a laugh that was on par with a bell's chime. Once, he provided a small group of travelers with shelter during a horrid storm against his father's wishes.

But what made both men and women surrender their hearts to him on sight were his eyes.

Large and expressive and the loveliest shade of amethyst the boy was blessed with. When he smiled, they would shine like the stars in the night sky if he was sad, one could easily tell. One could get lost in their purple depths for days on end.

One day, nearing the prince's eighteenth birthday, the king and queen spoke to their child, who had been engaged in one of the many toys that were scattered across the palace. Their son had a fondness for games, hence why they chose his name.

"Yugi," His father said. The young prince turned. "My son, thou are almost of age to be wed. Yet thou hast not even looked for anyone to court!"

"You must find partner, my child," His mother spoke softly. "We do not wish to see our only son grow old and alone, with none to accompany you or bring you happiness."

The young prince knew this, knew he was in need of a spouse before his mother and father passed. And yet "I know this," The prince said sadly. "We have spoken of this time and time again, mother. But I cannot...have not found the one..."

"They are out there somewhere, my son!" His father implored. His son remained silent. "A ball. We shall have a ball, an extravagent event in which all are invited! You will meet them there, my child, I'm sure of it."

And so, a ball was held. Grand and extravagent with every inch of the royal family's castle decorated. All, from commoner to royalty from foreign lands, traveled to have a chance at winning the prince's heart. One caught the prince by surprise and took his hand to kiss it.

"Dear prince," He said. "I am Kaiba Seto, king of Hresh. I kneel before thee to ask for thine hand in marriage. Wouldst thou be so generous as to allow me to behold thine beauty day and night, rule thy kingdom alongside thou and strike fear into those who are deserving?"

"Rise, my king," He said softly and pulled his hand away. "I must decline thy offer, for I do not love thee."

"Is it riches you seek, my prince?" Called out one of the guests. "We have much to offer!"

"I may give you land!" Offered one.

"I have the finest collection of jewels!" Said another woman. "Of course, they pale in comparison to thine beautiful eyes, my prince."

"I can give you riches!"

"I shall give you mine own kingdom for thine love, sweet prince!"

One by one, a line was formed. All guests, commoner and royalty alike, offering their land, riches, even children, to have the boy's love. One by one, they were denyed.
