A/N Yes I know that the last scene was from the TV series but I felt like it was necessary to start with it. Anyway if you have any suggestions for future scenes feel free to leave a comment below.
Betty
I'm sitting at a desk in the school news room with my head down and the end of a pen softly resting between my teeth. School is over and I'm currently starting work on a particularly boring article about the schools new democracy system. I hear and knock on the door and turn in my chair to see Jughead pushing it open.
"Hi," he says, not looking at me while he closes the door behind him and sets down his bag on a near by desk. "What are we working on?"
"An article about the schools new democracy system," I say yawning. "Like it's going to help. You realise Cheryl and Reggie are most definitely going to get the year captain rolls again. Well Cheryl at least. Reggie's never gotten it before but that's only because of Jason."
"Speaking of Jason have you got any new leads on the case?" Jughead cut in.
"Well not at the moment but I'm hoping to get some more information tonight from Trev," I say, Turning back to my page and scribbling down a few notes. I turn back to notice Jughead shifting his feet awkwardly and looking moody. "Are you not okay with me interrogating Trev?" I say uncertainly. He looks up at me.
"No, no I'm glad that we have a source. He'll be a good way to find out more about Jason it's just..."
"What."
"Well I wish you didn't have to do it alone," He said, looking a little embarrassed. I look up surprised.
"We can hardly have the whole gang questioning him," I say uncertainly.
"I know I know. Forget I said anything. Uh have we got any more articles that need finishing?" He says, quickly changing the subject. I look at him, a little taken aback.
"Oh, well I was going to proof read this one I wrote yesterday but it might be better if you do it since I'll probably miss something reading my own work." I hand him a piece of paper and a red pen.
"here," I say, turning back to my work. Jughead nods and turns to find another desk to sit at. He is acting strange today, I think to myself.
Jughead
Betty hands me the paper and I sit down at a desk opposite her. Why didn't I just keep my mouth shut. I'm such an idiot. I look down at the paper in front of me and notice that Betty's forgotten to put in an apostrophe . I quickly bend over to correct it. As I do I notice that Betty has written some of her won notes and corrections. It's cute how she always makes that little loop at the end of all her Gs.
I pause for a moment to find myself looking up at Betty. She's wearing an adorable pink sweater with a white collar today and her hair is of course tied back in her signature pony tail. I smile as I notice that she has her pen between her teeth again. Betty always seemed to do that when she's thinking of something to write. A small noise in the corridor outside snaps me back to reality and I hastily look down at the paper again and start correcting some of Betty's mistakes. All the while though I cant seem to stop thinking about her.
"Well I'm off. I have that date with Trev and I still have to finish the maths homework Mr Sintrone set us," says Betty, breaking the silence and stuffing her books back into her bag. I feel a twinge of annoyance at these words.
"I thought you said it wasn't a date," I say, giving her a small smile. She turns slightly pink and swings her bag over her shoulder.
"Fine, it can be an intelligence gathering mission then if that's what you want. Either way it doesn't matter," and she pushes open the door and exits the room. I sit there for a minute, then decide to call it a day. I put my stuff back in my bag and then head out the door after Betty.
